The Poor Pig

241 Words
One day, the rabbit was organizing vegetables and fruits in a basket to bring to the market and sell. "I hope my goods sell out today so I can buy more fertilizer for my crops," the rabbit said to himself. As the rabbit pushed the cart full of goods, he saw a pig searching for something to eat in the grass. "I hope there is food here," the pig said to himself. The rabbit handed a few pieces of apples, bananas, and cabbage to the foul-smelling and dirty pig. "Friend pig, take these as my help to you," he said while handing over the food. The pig glanced behind him toward where he heard the voice. "Are you really giving these to me?" he asked the rabbit. "Of course, go ahead and eat," said the rabbit. "Aren't you disgusted by me?" added the pig. "No, and why would I be disgusted by you? I know you're dirty and haven't groomed yourself well, but you are a fellow who also needs help and understanding, my friend," replied the rabbit. "Thank you for not being like the others who stay away from me because they dislike me for being fat and poor," said the pig. "You're welcome, my friend, but I must get going now because I still have goods to sell," said the rabbit, taking his leave. "Thank you so much again, my friend! I won't forget you," the pig cheerfully replied.
