The Clever Fox

254 Words
The rabbit continued pushing his cart when the fox saw him, appearing to be struggling. "Looks like you have a lot of loads on your cart, friend rabbit?" the Fox lively asked. "Oh, it's you, fox. How are you?" the rabbit asked back. "I'm doing fine, friend," answered the Fox. The rabbit remained silent. "Do you need any help?" he added. "No, it's alright, I can handle this. I'll go ahead," the rabbit coolly replied. "Wait a moment, friend," the Fox called out. "Why?" replied the rabbit. "Could I work at your fruit and vegetable farm?" the Fox asked. "I'm sorry, Fox, but I don't need any workers on my farm," said the rabbit. "Please, my friend. I really need a job right now," the Fox insisted. "Because you might fool me again," said the rabbit. "I apologize for tricking you before. I gambled away the money we earned, thinking it would grow, but I lost it instead. However, I have changed, so please, friend rabbit, help me," the Fox pleaded. Though hesitant, the rabbit eventually agreed out of a desire to help the Fox. "Alright, Fox, I agree to let you work on my vegetable and fruit farm. But if you trick me one last time, I will never help you again," the rabbit reminded him. "Thank you so much, my friend! Come on, let me help you with your loads," the Fox happily replied. The Fox took the cart from the rabbit and pushed it himself all the way to the market.
