TWO BODIES IN THE RUBBLE

1263 Words
Zayn's POV I tried to keep my face expressionless as Lorenzo spoke. “Just received a call from Jade, the secret warehouse is about to get raided, the local police tipped off Interpol. They probably flagged it down or something.” my hands clenched around the table. I turned to face my brother. “Handle the documents with him, I have to leave right now,” I said and turned to leave, brushing past people as I tried to keep my cool, ignoring anyone that tried talking to me. I brought out my phone and started dialing jade's number the moment I was out of earshot and i knew no one could hear what I was going to be saying. The bodyguard waiting outside the car opened the door and I slipped in before they shut it after me. The driver started the car and Jade picked the call. “Find a way to move out the supplies from the warehouse, I don't care how you do it, just find a way, we can't afford to let them get there and see all of that there it's going to get us in deep trouble.” i spoke with urgency etched into my tone. I was supposed to smuggle those drugs to Cincinnati next week, I had a big deal coming in but with the current development, things were more likely to go wrong. I dropped the call and immediately contacted the pharmacists that were working for me. I needed them to be active in situations like this. I didn't want the drugs all mixed up they know how they can carefully foresee the handling of the moving of drugs. I realized that i could only reach a few of them. I cursed internally, promising to punish them for being unavailable in situations like this when all of this was over. We arrived home after what seemed like eternity. I got out of the car as fast as I could, heading straight to my personal office. I picked up my tablet and immediately contacted the other tech and security teams. Tapping the mic on my collar I whispered into it. A bodyguard at the entrance followed me instantly. “Hack into the systems and start wiping out everything on it, tell jade to get the drones ready, if the need arises you can set the warehouse ablaze, I'm taking no chances, I need y'all to get back to me as soon as possible on the development of things, I want it done swiftly.” I walked briskly into the elevator, checking the CCTV footage through my tablet. My suit suddenly felt uncomfortable. I pulled at my tie, loosening it a bit. Handing over the tablet to the bodyguard, I took off my suit jacket and dumped it on his shoulder snatching the tablet from him. He removed the jacket from his shoulder, folded it and held it in his hand, going back to position behind me. I passed the hallway and heard my dad's voice laughing and a feminine voice in the background. My jaw clenched at the sound. Not wanting to see whoever he was talking to, I came into the living area of the mansion and refused to spare him or his lady friend a glance. “You're back early,” he said. “There's an emergency,” I replied coldly without stopping. “Stop I need you to meet someone,” he sighed. “I said there's an emergency, I can't afford to engage in uncessary conversations with you and your business partners.” “This is not about any f*****g business this is about you damn it!” He bellowed. I finally stopped in my tracks and turned to spare him a glance. “What now?” I asked irritated. I finally took a good look at the woman. She had too much makeup on, her teeth looked as fake as her boobs which were almost spilling out of her gown. Her hair was bright blonde and she held a cup of sparkling wine with a lipstick stain at the rim. “Come over here and meet Fiona,” my dad said, his voice calm but laced with warning. I saw the expression on his face as he quietly warned me to not try anything funny. I sighed and glanced briefly at the tablet, watching how my men we're moving out cartoons of parcels with the efficiency I demanded from them, I turned it off satisfied and handed the tablet to the bodyguard. “Take that to my room,” I said to him. I walked towards my dad and sat across him, unbottoning the top three buttons of my shirt. Fiona sat there, a coy smile on her face as her eyes trailed down my neck and my exposed chest. She thrust her chest forward and I gave her a very irritated look. She didn't seem to notice instead she repositioned her self, exposing her white smooth legs. I looked away and stared at father. My phone buzzed in my bucket and I fought the urge to not pick it. “The issue I discussed with you earlier… I figured since you don't have a girlfriend I can help you work things out. Fiona's dad owns one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies, I decided it would help the gang and her father's business if you both decided to get engaged to each other.” I stared at my dad in disbelief and stared at the girl sitting beside him, wondering how on earth I was supposed to get engaged to that thing heavily coated with make-up. My phone buzzed again and I immediately became impatient. “Because I didn't bring a girl home to you doesn't mean I don't have a girlfriend, I would like it if this would be the first and the last time you try to plan my engagement to someone without my knowledge.” Fiona's smile dropped a little. My dad stared at me in surprise. “You have a girlfriend?” “Yes I do, I'll bring her to you when the time is right you do not to go through all these length to try and push your f*****g responsibilities on me… now if you'll excuse me, I have something important to attend to.” I stood up and walked away leaving them both speechless. I took my phone and sent a quick text to Lorenzo. 'Speed up the search for the bodyguard and while you're doing that get me anyone that is ready to pretend to be my fiance for a few months.' I took out my phone and stared at the missed calls and messages from Jade. 'We couldn't get rid of all the supplies but we were successfully able to move out most of it.' I nodded in satisfaction. My phone rang almost immediately I finished reading the text message. It was jade calling. “Boss…” he said, his voice etched with worry, I didn't think much into it. “I'm glad you handled everything properly, next time don't let it get too late before you realize stufs like this, your incompetence almost caused a big deal…” “...boss there's a problem,” he interrupted me sharply. My brows furrowed. “ What happened Jade?” “The two of the pharmacists from the main warehouse… we didn't know they were still in the warehouse, when Lorenzo sent in the drones, they blew up the warehouse with the two of them still in it.” My blood ran cold.
