Melia’s Point of View
“Okay, okay, one at a time.”
I say laughingly as three little dogs run circles around me, jumping up every now and then.
“You are all very needy. I get it.”
I say, smiling at them as I try to pet them. One of them runs away, and grabs a toy before running back to me. He drops a toy at my feet and stares up at me expectantly.
“You want me to throw it again?”
I ask and he barks at me, almost like he understood my question.
“Alright, but you have to share this time.”
I say and someone chuckles behind me.
“Looks like they have claimed you.”
One of the volunteers says and I smile at her.
“I don’t mind. I could stay here all day.”
I say, tossing the toy again and she gives me a big smile.
