I needed to get to the safety of my car. As stupid as it sounded, I felt exposed standing out there in the middle of the car park. Goosebumps prickled my arms and I wished I'd put my coat on before I left to shield myself from the chill of the evening air and allow myself one more layer of protection. Protection? Against what? I shook my head, feeling more stupid by the second to have let my head fill with all sorts of imaginary nightmarish scenarios but I couldn't help but glance around again, letting my eyes sweep around the field of my vision. I flitted over the shadows as I didn't want to look to closely into the gloom, sure that my eyes would play tricks on me and make me think someone was lurking there, just as they used to when I was a kid and I would wake up at night, staring wild
