Chapter 19

Sun’s jaw dropped when I said that. Early in the morning, I was able to see a lot of expressions from him. These past few days, I cannot stop thinking about how and why he was tied up with me. There is one thing that I need to find out too, why does he appear on nights only? So it means that ghosts only appear when dark? I was smiling unknowingly that Sun was looking at me, confused. 

“You don’t even know me yet, and you are offering to help me.” 

“That’s the reason why I am going to help you. I want to know who you really are and why we met like this. This will not only benefit me, but you too. Don’t you want to know why you can’t move far from me?” 

Sun was still a bit hesitant. 

“I know that you are worried about some things, but it will sound rude if I just ignore your presence. We need to accept that, so let’s just help each other, okay?”

Sun just nodded his head in response. I held out my hand and offered a handshake and all of a sudden, Sun burst out of laughter. 

“Are you serious?” 

A few seconds had passed before I realized why he was laughing. I can’t help myself not to laugh as well. 

I scratched my head in embarrassment. Having these feelings in front of a ghost was weird enough. 

“Just to seal the deal.” I said and raised my hand again, smiling. 

Sun smiled and raised his hand to shake my hands. Though it was a bit weird, I can actually feel him holding my hand. We stayed like that for a few minutes, just looking at each other. My heart skipped a bit when he smiled brightly. I hurriedly looked in the opposite direction of the room. What’s that?

Seeing him up close gave me a glimpse of how good looking Sun was. The color of his eyes complemented his pale skin. It felt like a catch sight of the galaxy when I accidentally looked him in his eyes. His presence was calming as usual, and the cold aura that he was giving off was warm, comforting. 

“Are you okay, Ray?” 

“Uhm, yes. I am feeling sleepy.” I said and headed to the other side of the bed. 

“Then, I won’t disturb you now. Go to sleep, I know that you will be waking up early later.” 

I looked at him as he blinked on the couch and sat there. I wanted to tell him something, but I don’t know why I backed out. 

“Good night.” Those were the words that I heard before I fell asleep again.

“Ray, wake up!” Someone said and kept on pushing me. I was so sleepy because of what happened earlier, and I didn’t want anyone to bother me. I wanted to sleep more.

“Hey, if you don’t open your eyes Ray, I’m gonna kick you in the ass.” For god’s sake, it was Miko, acting like my mom again. I did not budge and kept my eyes closed even though he kept on pushing and pulling me on my bed. It continued for a few minutes, and there was a loud thud heard from the room. 

Scratching my head, I slowly stood up, wanting to shoot a laser at Miko. I looked at him annoyed. 

“It was your fault, young man. I was trying to wake you up.” Miko explained. 

“Shut up or else I’m going to smack your head.” 

Miko just stood there and acted like he was zipping his mouth. Instead of talking, I headed to the bathroom to wash my face and cool my head. The cold water woke my senses and calmed my head.

My friend was still there, sitting on the couch and playing on his phone. 

“Now, shoot.” 

“Uh, well. There is a new rumor that was going around on the farm.” Miko said as he continued playing on his phone. 

“What rumor?”

“Earlier, when I headed to the kitchen, I heard that they were talking about you. The employees heard you laughing early in the morning. Some employees said that you were possessed, and some said that you were just talking with your lover over the phone. I thought you broke up with Pine already?” Miko said as he continued playing on his phone. 

I remembered what happened earlier. I must have laughed so loud, causing the rumor. I need to be careful next time. 

“Oh really, I was sleeping soundly last night? Where did those rumors come from again? Don’t you dare speak the name of that person again.” I said as I changed my clothes. 

“Sorry, I will not say Pine again.” Miko teased. 

“Do you want to die now?” 

“I’ll stop, young master. Please don’t kill me.” 

Sometimes, I think about why I became friends with this loose screw headed person. Well, I need to be careful next time so they won’t find out that I was talking to some ghost which they fear.
