Chapter 15Roy Roy sat in what was usually one of his favorite classes, for once not paying any attention. He felt badly about that, and worse about hurrying away when Cato had obviously needed to talk to him, but Roy hadn’t known what to say. What Cato needed to hear. What advice, what plan, was right. It was Roy’s job to know what was right. To fix problems. And Cato was counting on him. Roy hated to imagine the look on Cato’s face if he let him down. It would be as bad as that pale, shell-shocked panic when he had gotten the call about his mother. No, worse, because this time it would be Roy’s fault. Roy gave himself a mental slap for that.
