Why couldn't he just leave her alone? She wondered if this was an empty threat. An attempt to get her to speak to him. Perhaps it was a hint that he was thinking of committing suicide. Another bid for her attention? She pondered telling Thomas about it, but he was in such a good mood, and with their date this evening she didn't want anything to spoil that.
