You could smell the festivities in the air. The hustle and bustle of traders calling out to buyers. You could hear the sounds of sewing machines being tapped, seamstresses making costumes before the big day.

Lights being hung on streets giving the city a special traditional glow. Children excited, talking and giggling.

In two days it's going to be Halloween. A special day to kids and teens alike. A day were different costumes will be displayed. A basket full of candies will be given out, the word 'trick or treat' will be said by kids and of course they will want the treat. Visitation of haunted houses and all night fun!

Looking out of my window,the streets of Paris had the feel of Halloween. Pumpkins were set up at front yards, designed in a scary face shaped. I love hallowens,the different kinds of costumes are overwhelming. Thinking about costumes,I have not decided on what to wear.

I sighed, moving away from the window. I stretched my body, and bones cracking could be heard around the room. Walking to my closet, I pulled out an outfit for the day. Walking into the bathroom,I took a warm bath. Drying myself up I heard my phone ring. I grabbed the phone and it was a message from my friend

" hey Sav, be at Mr wels kitchen by 10am,see ya"!

Mr wels kitchen is one of our usual spots, I and my friends.

I hurried up, cause the time was already after 8am. Right after wearing my clothes, I heard my name being called....

"Savannah"!

"Yes mum"! I grunted.

" will you get down here and have your breakfast,it's late already"! she shouted

" I'll be down in a bit and besides mum,it's just 8 am in the morning"! I sighed.

" That's late for me. Now hurry up,I'll be out very soon "

I shoved my phone into my hand bag and walked down the stairs.

" Morning sunshine" my elder brother Charles greeted me while pecking my forehead. I smiled,I always liked this greeting of his every morning,I can never get tired if it. I love my brother so much,we always get along unlike some siblings that always fight. He's 18 while am 16.

" Good morning big bro and mum" I greeted while my mum placed a plate before me and I served myself some bacon and eggs with toast and a glass of milk..

"Did you sleep well" my mum asked me. she's a single mom,my dad left us when I was still a baby. I was never told why he left, infact the topic is undiscussable in our house. I can't see why any man will want to leave my mum,she is wonderful and hard-working. well, it's his loss

" yes mum I did. Mum I will be going to meet my friends when am done eaten,can I go"

"Thought you were going to spend your day with me" Charles pouted

I laughed at him

" No way bro,we spend most of our times together, today is with my friends" I said shoving a bacon in my mouth

" You can go but be back by 4pm"

"Thanks mum" I finished quickly and got set to go

" mum am off" I called out

" okay,bye sweetie"

opening the front door, I stepped out and closed it behind me. I was hit by the busy Paris street. walking down I greeted our neighbors and some traders

" hello Madame Smurf" I greeted a food stuff seller. I wonder why her name is Smurf, maybe because she is actually short....

" Good morning Savannah,you doing okay today" she asked while arranging some apples on her food stand

"Am doing great,bye Madame Smurf" I waved goodbye at her

"Wait Savannah"

"Yes ma'am"I turned to face her.

"Take this apple it's on me"

she stretched her hands, giving me the apple. It was so red and looked juicy.

" Thank you ma'am" Taking the apple from her,I turned to leave and I bit into the apple while heading to Mr wels kitchen. I must say the apple was really juicy.

Getting to Mr wels, I pulled on the door and it opened, you could hear a bell ring, announcing a customer entering...

I glanced around the restaurant and located my friends sitting close to the window. I walked to them, with a sigh I sat on a chair opposite them..

" Well it's about time you showed up" my friend Grace said throwing a straw at me...others laughed

"Am not even late,did you expect me to fly. I had to prepare and do stuffs” I grunted.

"Stuff like ...”? Josh asked smirking.

They say that cause they know I don't really do anything in the mornings.

"Savannah for all I know,you just took your bath and ate, right?" Grace asked raising her eyebrows.

"I just find It hard getting up from bed in the morning, cut me some slack"

"Anyways in two days time it's going to be Halloween and we have not decided what to wear yet. You guys should start laying down suggestions". Grace brought out a book and pen from her bag... two minutes passed and no one said anything, she gave us this look of 'common are you guys serious'?

"I can't really think of anything now" I gave up.

"As for me am going to dress as a Dracula. It's going to be classic". Josh said sipping from his orange juice that he ordered.

"That's cool dude" Grace smiled giving Josh a high five.

"I will dress as halequin joker's girl"

Grace squealed.

"Woah,it's going to be crazy. Nice costume". Josh commented.

"So that leaves only you, Savannah". Said Grace.

"I guess I will dress as a werewolf" I thought

"Nice and that leaves our dress code complete." Grace ticked on the paper,I looked at the paper and saw that she had a list written down,I grunted loudly.

"Arrgh Grace, you have a list written! What do you want from this Halloween that you have a list"? I rubbed my face.

"Chill out Savannah,it's just a couple of things. Now next up. we are going to visit a haunted house,yes or no" Grace looked at the both of us.

My mouth was left agape, I never visited a haunted house during Halloween cause that's one thing I don't like.

I looked at Josh and he was grinning from ear to ear.

"I am sooooo in" They high fived again.

"What wait, no! No haunted house please".

"Not this year Savannah, you said “no” last time but this time you are going.

You’ll be with us so you don't have to worry about a thing". Josh gave me a reassuring smile as he tried to convince me.

I heard that sometimes, some children go in and they never come out. Josh and Grace have always been the crazy ones in our group,am like their baby that they take care of. Am scared of most things and a haunted house is one of them.

"Savannah just this once,if you don't like it, we won't push you ever again, okay"? Grace begged, giving me the puppy eyes, I looked at Josh and he was giving same puppy eyes as well. I grunted, it's hard to say no when they look so cute.

"okay, just this once" I agreed and they screamed causing the attention of the customers to us..

"We're so sorry" they apologized and I laughed at them.

"Haunted house here we come" Josh whispered.

"Ticked. Now for our next to-do list..."

I rested my head on the table......This is going to be one hell of a Halloween.
