21 Shaun The door creaked open, and I sat up, swiping the drying tears from my face. “Let’s go,” the bodyguard from earlier said, stepping back in the doorway. “Why?” I asked, my heartbeat kicking back into hyper speed. He glared at me and waited as my mind rushed over possibilities that Arturo changed his mind and told the goon to take me out back—wherever the hell we were—and put a bullet in my head. Or did he await me in a bedroom somewhere, ready with ropes to bind me and his men to f**k me until I bled?
