Tuppen and I had our talk, and things were going great between us. We had several dates after my explosion at practice, and several of the girls on the team wanted me to fix them up with Noah. They thought I wasn't giving him their numbers until one day one of the girls went up and asked him right in front of me "So, Flynn did Evans give you my number." He groaned, "Yes, she did." "So, how about it me and you." He shook his head "look, I am sorry I am not interested. I am still not over my ex. and before you say let me help you with that the answer is no. I want her back; I screwed up, and I am not going to lose the chance." The whole time he was staring at me in my eyes, and I had to look away. I bit my cheek and said, "Well, I am off to hit the showers and go study for this stupid test on Friday." I had just finished getting dressed when the same girl asked me, "Do, you know who his ex is." "Yes, I do." "So, who is she." "A girl from our old school." "What happened." "Look, it is not my place to say." I turn and walk away. I was lying out in the middle of the quad rereading Brave New World by Adolf Huxley and taking notes when all of a sudden, a shadow blocks my sun. I don't even bother turning over and say "do, you mind your blocking my sun." "Well, I actually do mind." Next thing I know I am lifted and thrown over a guys shoulders, and as I am yelling put me down, he giggles, "Not a chance Shellybellie." I scream "Bradleybear" He chuckles and places me on my feet. I go to look him in the eye since when we left he was my height, but nope I get a view of nothing but chest. "What the hell have you been eating." "Ah, come on Shellybellie I haven't changed that much." "Yeah, you have you are big enough to throw me over your shoulder and damn where did you get those muscles." "Well, joining football will do that to ya." I jump into his arms. "I love you Bradleybear when did you get in." "Oh, about an hour ago I have been looking for you." He ruffled my hair and smirked. I glare at him, "oh, no, you didn't just mess up my hair and smirk at me young man." "Yeah, I did." "You are so dead." I take after him and tackle him to the ground. We ended up tangled up in each other's arms and legs and giggling. After untangling ourselves and making it to my stuff I sat down and Brad put his head in my lap. I looked down at him and started to run my fingers through his hair. "OK, What is wrong Bradleybear you don't do this unless something is wrong."
"I miss you, Noah and Lee." "I know baby but think of it this way we will all be back for Thanksgiving." "You know, now I understand how Noah felt before you and Lee came around at Sunday dinners." "Oh sweetie, we are still here for you. Wait till they find out your in town. You can sleep in the guest room." "No, I will get a hotel I don't want to drag you all down and have you miss your college parties." "Bradleybear I haven't been to a party since I started school here between studying and soccer I don't have time. Plus even if I did I would much rather spend my free time with you while your here I missed you." "Well, well what is going on here." I look up and there is Tuppen. "Oh, hey babe you remember Brad." "Oh, hey Brad how are you doing Lil' man." Brad glared "I am fine and I thought I told you only Noah and Lee call me that." I chuckled Tuppen looked at him and said "ok how about Bradleybear."
With that Brad jumped up and said "Only ShellyBellie calls me that and no one else." Tuppen looks at me and I say "Don't even try it only Brad calls me that it is something special between the two of us." "Ok so how about I buy you two lunch." I look at Brad and plead with just my eyes and he says "Ok, but don't you cut down my big brothers." Tuppen reaches down and grabs my bag and leads us to the café. While Brad ran off to the bathroom he said "He doesn't like me does he." "Just give him time. The break up was hard on him too he was really hoping that Noah would officially be his brother."
We sat there and ate our meal, and even Brad seemed to have fun. After we finished eating, we were heading out the door, and I looked up at Tuppen "Hey, I am going to be busy for the next few days if Brad is up for it we can get together, but I really want to spend some time with him we need some Brad and Elle time." "Ok, I guess." "Hey, I have told you this before nothing will come between my family and me, especially Brad. Brad would even win against Lee." "ok, babe I will chill." "Good I am glad you understand. Besides I am pretty sure there is going to be at least one night it is going to be bro's night, and the three of them will be hanging out together." "Hmm, I like that." I roll my eyes, "Bye, Charles." "Bye, Elle." He leans down and kisses me, and I hear, "oh grouse, do you really have to kiss my Shellybellie like that." We pull apart, and I smack Brad upside the head "Come on sweetie let's get you home and showered and surprise those Flynn boys" "Hell yeah and Boston better watch it because the Flynn's and the Evans's are back together." We both chuckle and head off to my apartment.
