Daryl came back for us in his suit. I’m still surprised they found one that fit him. He loaded our bags into the trunk of the sedan. I sat behind him with Daisy between Rose and I. One of us could have sat up front but both of them wanted to be by my side. I had somehow fit into the dress, piece of fabric really. Daryl gave me his signature whistle when he saw me. I was so afraid of flashing people that I was moving more slowly than normal. Everyone assured me that the tape would hold but I was still nervous. At least the bottom of the dress had enough fabric to cover everything, even with my legs exposed.
We were pulling into the drive when I noticed a motorcycle parked off to the side. It was covered with a tarp so I couldn’t tell what kind it was. That must be our guest.
“Jonah’s here!” Daisy answered my unspoken question.
I guess Jonah’s family were friends with her family. They didn’t grow up together but she was close with him. I was happy for her to have him here. The car came to a stop in front of the house. I saw Sam walking toward the car with Luke. Luke was Daisy’s dad and Rose’s mate. He reminded me of Sam some. They were both about five foot seven with brown eyes and olive skin. Luke didn’t shave his head like Sam though. He had dark blonde hair that was cut into a fade. Daisy had his eyes, dark brown and full of excitement.
They opened the door and Luke helped Rose out of the back seat. Daryl opened my door and held out his hand. I allowed him to help me out of the car. I placed my hand on his outstretched arm. He was leading me around the car when I saw Sam help Daisy out. The look of love on his face made me smile. I heard a gasp that drew my attention to the porch of the house.
Descending the stairs were my mates. All three were in suits as well. They looked so handsome. All of them wore a black suit with a red tie that matched my dress. I giggled at the expressions they had. Jeremy seemed to be panting, he was a wolf after all. Jackson’s dark blue eyes were glowing slightly as his sight devoured me. Jasper’s flame colored eyes were dancing with mischief and lust. Daryl stopped so they could escort me into the home. He winked at me and took off, no doubt to find food.
Jeremy reached me first and hesitated. “How am I supposed to touch you without that thing falling apart and leaving you bare for everyone to see.”
“Well my top half is taped to the dress. They assured me the tape would hold everything in place but I’m still nervous. At least the bottom covers everything, even if I can’t wear anything underneath.” I sighed.
I heard Jeremy growl and Jasper groan. “You look delectable my love.”
I looked toward Jackson and couldn’t stop myself from laughing. He seemed to be fighting with himself. I watched emotions fly through his eyes as he licked his lips.
“This has Isabelle written all over it.” Jasper sounded grateful.
“Sara helped her apparently. I’m not too happy with either of them at the moment.”
“Remind me to thank your sister Jasper. We better get inside before Jack loses it and drags you off to our room chere.”
I laughed and allowed Jeremy and Jasper to led me to the porch. Jake was inside the front door waiting on me. His eyes grew wide when he noticed my dress.
“Sara?” Jake was asking but he already knew.
“And Isabelle.” I rolled my eyes as I told him Sara had help.
He laughed and shook his head. He didn’t say anything else as he held out his arm to me. I took it and laughed with him while we made our way to the ballroom. I had no idea there was a ballroom in this house. It wasn’t on the tour Isabelle gave me. My mates followed behind us remaining quiet. I knew Jake needed to talk to me or he wouldn’t be waiting for me.
“You look amazing by the way.”
“Thanks Jake. You want to tell me why you were waiting on me?”
“You know me too well. I wanted to run something by you.”
“Ok.”
“I, uh, well.”
I stopped walking which caused everyone else to stop as well. I turned to Jake and waited. I could tell this was important since he couldn’t seem to get the words out. I looked into his emerald eyes and saw the fear there. I took shallow breaths through my mouth so I wouldn’t smell it. We were about the same height now with my heels adding a few inches to my five foot seven. Of course my men still towered over me.
“Ok. Here goes. I was wanting to do something tonight. I want your blessing of course. I went today while you girls were getting ready and picked this up.”
He pulled a box out of the inside on his suit jacket. It looked like a ring box. He opened it and I gasped. The ring was a gorgeous pale pink diamond in the center surrounded by smaller clear diamonds. The pink diamond was cut in the shape of a heart. I hugged Jake to me and squealed.
“You’re going to propose to Sara?” I whisper as I held him at arms length.
“Yeah. I think so. I’ve never felt anything like I do with her. It’s like she’s my other half. Just her smile lights up my world. Angel, I am in love with her. I can’t think of anyone else I would ever want to share my life with other than her. I don’t know what to say to her though. Please help me.” Jake gave me puppy dog eyes and pouted.
I laughed and shook my head. “Jake. You just said it. Everything you told me is what you should say to her. When you say the last part then get on one knee and ask her to be yours forever. I know she’ll say yes. She’s just as in love with you.”
“You’re ok with this then?”
“I couldn’t be happier Jake. I know that you two will have each other for the rest of your lives. I’m so glad you found her Jake. But if you must hear it, I give you my blessing.”
Jake’s smile lit his face up as he hugged me to him. I hugged him back and tried to stop the tears. Jake pulled back and put the ring back in his pocket before taking off ahead of us. I watched him go. He disappeared through the back door by my room. The ballroom was outside?
“Let’s not keep everyone waiting mo chroí.” Jasper stepped up and took my hand.
My curiosity peaked as we approached the door. We must be outside then. Jackson opened the door for us. I allowed Jasper to walk me through the door into the most beautiful room I had ever seen. It was an actual ballroom. I didn’t remember this being here. It was decorated in white. There were white roses everywhere. The room itself looked like it was made out of the roses. I could smell their lovely scent on the air.
“Daisy and Rose created the room. It’s made out of rose bushes and willow trees. Gretchen had us decorate a little so we could have tables to sit at. Of course Gretchen fixed a feast for us. Daryl seems to be enjoying that.” I could hear the laughter in Jackson’s voice as he explained where the room came from.
I looked to my right and sure enough, Daryl was sitting at a table with several plates. There was a table set up with the feast. I noticed the table was long and overflowing with food. Gretchen outdid herself. My stomach growled when I remembered that I hadn’t eaten much today. I allowed Jasper to lead me toward the tables. He sat me across from Daryl as all three of them disappeared. Daryl looked so happy.
“How’s the food Daryl?” I laughed as he inhaled everything.
“So good.” He said around a mouthful of chicken.
I giggled at the look of bliss on his face. Jackson returned with a plate for me. There was roasted chicken and macaroni and cheese. I also noticed a salad with Italian dressing on a smaller plate. I smiled and thanked Jackson before I dug in. Daryl was right, this was delicious. Maybe Gretchen could teach me how to cook. Jeremy and Jasper joined us with their own plates. No one said a word while we ate. I saw Gretchen making her way toward us with her mate Gerald. They looked fantastic. Gretchen had a white floral dress on and her long curly hair was in loose curls down her back. Gerald was wearing a white suit to match his wife.
“Well, little witch. I think they forgot part of your dress at the store.” The laughter in her voice made me happy but also a little irritated.
“You can thank Sara and Isabelle for that.” I replied grumpily.
“You look beautiful little witch. Don’t let the dress spoil your mood.”
“I will try not to let it ruin the fun tonight. Just do me a favor and watch for any slips. I’m terrified the tape won’t hold through the night.”
Gretchen and Gerald laughed as they went to get their own plates. I looked around the room and noticed Roy and Gwen sitting off to the side. She was in a pale yellow strapless dress and he had a matching tie. She looked lovely laughing at whatever he had said. It made me happy to see the others so happy. Isabelle was right. We all needed this tonight. There has been so much happening, our stress levels were high.
“Are you done eating my love?” Jackson was watching me closely.
“I am. It was so wonderful, I wish I could eat more.”
Gretchen heard me as she returned to the table. The huge smile on her face made me smile too. “I will save you some for later little witch.”
Jackson stood and pulled me along with him. We headed towards the other end of the room where it looked like the floor was evened out. This must be the dance floor. My nerves started to bounce around in my stomach. I didn’t know how to dance other than the exotic classes I took once for a mission. As if sensing my issue, Jackson pulled me flush against his body. I relaxed a little in his embrace.
It's alright my love. I know how to dance and will lead. Just follow my lead.
I felt Jackson’s love in my mind with his words. I smiled and nodded. I shouldn’t have been worried because Jackson was a great dancer. He held my right hand, while his left rested on the small of my back. My hand was resting on his bicep, I was too afraid to raise it higher than that. I laughed as Jackson twirled us around the dance floor like we were floating. The soft song that was playing finished so he stepped back and bowed to me. I gave an awkward curtsy because of the dress.
Jasper was there in an instant. I allowed him to take the lead just as Jackson had done. He twirled us around the floor as well. I saw others were joining us. Isabelle and Luther were first, then Azalea and Eren. I watch the flames dance on Jasper’s skin and in his eyes as he led me around. How had I gotten so lucky? All three of my mates were perfect for me.
I allowed my mind to wander as I danced with Jasper. I hadn’t known that the day I found Jeremy in that cage, that he would change my whole life. I learned that day about our hidden world. Jeremy was a lycan and the first mate I found. Then I met Jackson. I hadn’t known at the time that I was part of a prophecy that would change not only my life but our entire world.
Daisy found us and dropped that bomb. I found out that night that Jackson was my mate as well. I also learned about a spell preventing my magic from being used. With that spell it also wiped my memories and put them behind a wall that I hadn’t broken yet. The others were able to bring enough of the spell down so my magic was fully free. We still had work to do but I was trying to not dwell on it.
The spell is how I met Jasper. Isabelle was brought in by Sam to help. She asked her brother, Jasper, to help. When we met I thought he was an intruder and kind of knocked him down. His mom Azalea never let that one go. Even his father, Eren, liked to tease him about it. Since then we have spared several times and I won’t let him pin me. Luther, Isabelle’s mate, loves to watch that.
The song ended and Jasper bowed to me as Jackson had. I smiled and moved to leave the floor but I should have known better. Jeremy was waiting for his turn. Unlike Jackson and Jasper, he pulled me into his arms and swayed on the spot with me. I enjoyed being in his arms. I knew he could probably dance like the others but he knew I preferred this way better. I sighed happily as I allowed myself to relax fully in his arms.
I saw Jasper dancing with his mom and Isabelle and Jackson dancing as well. They were all becoming close. My joy of having my new family with me and getting along was wonderful. Even with my human family being here, they were all working so well together. I watched Eren lead L to the dance floor and Luther had Olesia. I smiled as I watched them blush but they were willing to try. Phillip had Sara fussing as he led her to the floor. My heart swelled with love watching everyone enjoying themselves.
That’s when I felt it. Something was pulling me away from the dance floor. Jeremy felt me stiffen and pulled me away from everyone. I tried to shake the feeling but just like when I found Jeremy I couldn’t. The concern on Jeremy’s face couldn’t even distract me. I sent him the feeling as I looked around the room. He relaxed some and began to search as well.
My eyes were drawn toward the door. There stood a man in a black suit. He was about six foot maybe a little more. I could feel the power coming off him as his eyes landed on me. I watched the shock envelope his features as he looked right into my eyes. My blue eyes met his and the world fell away. We were in the same room but no one else was here with us. I looked at him curiously. Was this a vision? It didn’t feel like a vision to me. I looked into his eyes again and I notice that his blue eyes had flecks of purple through out the iris.
“Vi?” His voice came out a whisper.
Everything came back at once. I was surrounded by several panicked men. Jeremy and Jake were holding my arms and trying to get my attention. I shook my head to clear it.
“I’m alright. I think it was a vision but I’m not sure.”
“You disappeared. One minute you were standing with Jay, then gone.” Roy was holding Gwen to him for dear life.
“I think that was Jonah. He’s a cosmic wiccan.” Daisy’s calm voice broke through my confusion.
“So that’s why she disappeared?” Sam sound scared.
Sara pushed her way to me. “Ok maybe the dress was over the top.”
I laughed at her perplexed face. “You think?”
Sara laughed and waved the question away. Jonah had come closer in all the chaos. I looked to him and tried to understand what had happened. Sara pulled Jake away to dance as the others went back to dancing as well. Daisy and Sam stayed along with my men. Jonah was staring at me as if I were a ghost. I had this strange feeling that he knew me from somewhere.
“Jonah? What is it?” Daisy looked a little worried as she addressed him.
“Is this her?” Jonah was still whispering.
“Yes. My lady this is Jonah. Jonah this is Angel.” Daisy sounded just as confused as I felt.
“Vi. You were the one this whole time? Now I know why you disappeared.”
“You know me?”
“I’ve known you since we were kids. We grew up together. I was sure you were my mate when we were teenagers. Then your family disappeared with you. When they returned ten years later, you weren’t with them. They knew you were missing but couldn’t seem to remember anything. We’ve been looking for you ever since.”
Shock stole through my body as I absorbed what he was saying. I grew up with him? He was my mate? My family were really looking for me? I couldn’t get my brain to work. I stood there looking at Jonah in surprise. I had so many questions but I could not voice any of them.
“Vi, we all missed you. Your mom has been so distraught that your dad had to take her away. Your brothers haven’t come back for years, because they refuse to come home without you. Where have you been?”
“What’s my name?” My voice came out soft.
“The spell is still blocking your memories, I almost forgot. Your name is Vivian Grace. You are the only girl born to Victor and Antoinette. Your brothers are Alexander, Anthony, Andrew, Alistair, and Aiden. You were named after your grandmothers.”
I let that sink in. My family wanted me. I wasn’t sure why that made my heart hurt. I had always thought they weren’t even looking for me and didn’t want to find me. I was wrong. They hadn’t given up on finding me. Tears began to well up in my eyes as I longed to meet them. I wanted to see them and let them know that I was alive and well.
“Angel?” Jake’s voice cut through the chaos in my mind.
“They never gave up on finding me.” The ache in my voice had the tears falling down my cheeks. Jake pulled me to him and let me cry.
“I don’t know anyone who could ever give up on you. You are the most amazing person I’ve ever known. Sara and I both would never be able to forget you even if they tried to put a spell on us. You are our sister, blood or not.” I felt Sara rubbing my back as Jake tried to calm me down.
I pulled back and looked at Sara. She was crying as well. “I made you mess up your make up.”
“You’re worth it Angel.” She hugged me to her as tightly as she could.
I pulled back and used my magic to clean up the streaks on her cheeks. I wanted her to look prefect for when Jake proposed. She gave me a grateful look and laughed softly. I looked to Jake and nodded. It was the perfect time. Everyone gathered around us to see what was going on.
“Sara?” Jake sounded nervous. I stepped back to give them some room.
“What is it Jake?” Sara’s curiosity came out in her voice.
Jake took a deep breath before speaking. “I realize this isn’t normal for people like us. When we met, I was smitten. I have never been so in love with anyone, like I am with you. You are my world and I live to see your smile. I can’t imagine ever living my life without you in it.”
Jake got down on one knee and pulled the ring box out of his jacket. I smiled at the surprise on Sara’s face.
“Will you please be my wife and do me the honor of staying by your side for the rest of our lives?”
Everyone was watching with smiles and tears. Sara just nodded and held her hand out. I could see she was trembling. Her tears were back but these were tears of joy. Jake put the ring on her finger and stood. She jumped into his arms without thinking. I watched them hug and felt happiness coming from everyone but Jonah. I turn toward him. He was watching me and I could feel his confusion.
