Chapter 21Wednesday, my plane landed at Baltimore–Washington International mid-afternoon. I’d dozed most of the way, still tired from the sleep I didn’t get in the last two days. Sam was waiting to drive me home.
“How has it been?” she asked.
“Better,” I answered. I didn’t really feel like chatting, but it was nice o talk with someone who knew about my life. I’d spent the entire flight either sleeping or worrying about Patrick.
“Did you get your aunt’s stuff all taken care of?”
“I’ll never get it finished. Aunt JL left me a mess. She placed on me all the things she didn’t want to do.”
“Why?” Sam asked.
“Because the entire family, except my grandfather, every other member of the family is a greedy want it all. You saw my mother and my aunts fighting over Jussy’s clothes. It was disgus
