“Last time we went star-watching it was a lot colder than this.” Brad winced. Why had he said that? Was he just trying to bring up painful memories?
“That was a good night.”
Heat seared through his body at her words. Did she remember their parting kiss?
He cleared his throat. “I used to come out here all the time when I was a little kid. Thought I could count them all if I was just out here long enough.”
She leaned back on the roof. “It’s lovely.”
He glanced over at her, wondering what she was thinking. They’d hardly said a word since they got up here.
He let out a little cough. “Tell me a little bit about Costa Rica. Is the school doing well?”
“Mm-hmm.”
