Kate's POV
“It won’t change anything.”
It’s been a week since his parents died, and as crushing as the news was, it came with a very pressing piece of information: their empire is his, should he choose to accept.
“I know it won’t,” I tell him. “I think you should take it.”
He bites his lip. “But what if it changes things?”
I sigh. “Cliff, I can’t help you make this decision. I gave you my opinion, but I’m not going to try and sway you. It’s your decision, and yours alone. I’ll support you no matter what you decide.”
He frowns, gorgeous green eyes as bright as emeralds. “Think about what I could give you with that kind of money. Think about how much I could spoil you.”
“Please don’t make that a factor.”
“Come on, Kate. I need your help.”
I reach for his hands and squeeze them.
