It seemed both Sarya and I needed to release some built-up energy, as we were both more brutal in our attacks, constantly trying to find a way to bring the other down to yield. But neither of us was willing to give in.
Sarya proved to be faster than me on a few occasions, catching me off guard. I was perilously close to being the one with a mouthful of sand, but eventually, I saw her lose her footing slightly after I pushed her back. Seizing the opportunity, I kicked up, causing her foot to slide over the gravel and sending her headfirst into the ground.
She quickly shook her head and looked up, staring directly at the tip of my sword and emitting a low growl.
