Keston packed the essentials, figuring if he wanted any of the other stuff in his apartment, he could always fetch it later. By noon, he was on the road heading back north to begin a new phase of his life. The music pumping out of the speakers had him drumming his fingers on the steering wheel and singing along. Uncertainty lay ahead of him; would he be welcomed by Bigfoot or sent away? Did he have a chance with someone like Ness, who did seem to have a degree of interest in him, but he’d gone down similar roads in the past and wound up with a broken heart.
