I blinked, a bit perplexed by what was going on. “My deal?”
Elizabeth’s eyes seemed to narrow even more. “Yes, your f*****g deal. Sarah was right.”
At the mention of my step-sister’s name, my mood soured instantly. Judging by how close she was with Sarah, it was very likely that she knew about all that had been going on. Or, Sarah had told her some less than true things about me.
Either way, she didn’t like me.
“Right about what?” I let out a sigh, pushing my food aside. “I don’t know what she might have told you, but I have nothing against you.”
Elizabeth’s gaze lingered on me for a while. Then, her face twisted into a sick smile. “Well, it’s too bad I do.”
