I was sure we would end up having to fight the vampires. But that is not what happened. It was not what they wanted to happen. None of them cared that their King had been killed right in front of all of them by his own son. All of them accepted their new king, ready to follow him as he accepted Mia’s offer to work with us in ending the separation of everyone. Mia’s goal was to bring everyone together, for all of us to work together. She said it was how the world used to be. In all honesty, it sounded great. There was so much we could learn from each other. So many things that we could accomplish if all of us weren’t fighting each other or trying to kill each other. Turning to me, her smile grew, and again she had that look like she knew something that no one else knew. Which I guess
