Quinn’s POV
“You said you’ve only been a guardian for a few months?” I ask Nolan the next day at training.
Dean’s here, of course, along with Cooper and Marie. Something’s shifted between them, though they clearly aren’t together yet. Finn and Maddy are here, too, though they’re just spectating. They’re more the shift-into-something-with-sharp-teeth-and-hope-for-the-best types than fighting types.
“That’s right—since January.”
“Did you know Alaina before that?”
Alaina isn’t here. I was hardly even surprised to see that he didn’t bring her with him. He seems completely unattached to her, which still blows my mind.
