Chapter Nine
Pup leaves them. The kitten is curled up in her owner’s lap and Tom has his face burrowing between her legs. It looks as though after a rest there might be some more fun and games. But pup wants to find Stephen. She’s feeling a little tired and wondering exactly what time E. will come to call for her. She wonders if she might text him to find out.
She walks towards the back of the house, thinking Stephen might be there somewhere. As she gets to the end of the hall, suddenly she’s grabbed from behind. A hand goes over her mouth and another hand twists her arm painfully behind her back. She tries to let out a cry but the hand is large and pressed so tight against her mouth no sound escapes. She’s dragged backwards, struggling but in vain. Whoever has hold of her is strong. She
