Chapter Two
“Hello. I’ve been expecting you.” A low, soft voice greeted Valtina and Demetri. Valtina turned to find the glowing, pearl white face of Fatima.
“It’s nice to meet you. I’m Valtina.”
“Yes. And you are Demetri,” Fatima turned from Valtina to the warrior. “I’m sorry to meet you under these circumstances. I’m afraid this situation is dire. I arrived an hour ago, and I’ve been unable to enter Rachel’s bedroom. That can only mean that there are things taking place within those walls that are so depraved, my soul cannot be exposed to them.”
Valtina nodded in reply. “Ladaya warned me this would be a difficult mission. I need to see if I can enter Rachel’s mind. That will give us an idea of what we’re up against.”
