Chapter Three
“There’s only one demon, but he has a hound with him,” Fatima observed, staring off to the east side of the building. Her powers allowed her to assess the situation from afar.
“Ladaya said we should observe their shift schedule,” Valtina told the others. “Perhaps I can enter the demon’s mind, see how long he expects to be here. I’ll be right back.” Valtina disappeared in a flash before Demetri or Fatima could protest. Demetri set off after her, but found he wasn’t needed. The demon hadn’t sensed Valtina any more than the fury had. Demetri followed again as Valtina returned to Fatima.
“He’s due to leave in one hour,” she reported. “I think it would be best to overcome him, and move Sean before the next shift arrives.”
