if God was looking down on me
what would he do?
is he what they say?
can he give me strength?
what if holy and unholy
are the crusade within the heart
god and satan
love and hate
why do we blame the deities and their adversaries
when the reason why is in the mirror
i did this
why do i care where i go
if half the time i don't know where i am
does caring give me purpose or does it bury me in ancient expectation
when i unravel from the dirt I'm the same
just a man in the prime of his decay
love is all that matters
what we give, what we take
what we reciprocate
Semantics
semantics lack perspective
crafting words for systematic satisfaction
your ideals are the price for vanity
there's no comfort in reality
only in the shelter of denial you built for them
your face is ugly because it's true
they'll paint over it and call it art
you'll wear it proudly
representing false sainthood, humanitarianism
and another excuse for why your life isn't okay
your flesh?
your shadow, unfulfillment, and undisclosed desires
could you be ugly for a day
if it meant you could have it all?
would you shed your plastic shell
to be your needed self
you can't hide from what you are
a selfish machine
you hide from it, cover it up
reality is you have primal needs
shove it down along with the truth
be true only to the lies you live
your life will be half over and wasted
when it just took you being true to yourself
to become who you wanted to be
too late
i guess the world could always use a grunt
