Chapter Ten
“Christian, what are you doing here?” Lottie exclaimed seeing her husband’s bright face accost her in the saloon. She was tending bar, not a situation he was particularly happy with, but Lottie was in love with her position and it was the first time she’d been truly happy since coming to San Francisco. She could dress and act pretty much the way she wanted, and no one cared if she swore like a sailor.
At the moment, Christian was only interested in one thing. Sidling up to his wife at the corner of the bar, he nuzzled her neck affectionately, while running his hands along her small curvaceous form.
“We can’t do this now.”
“Why not?” he purred in her ear as he kissed it, then ran his tongue along the delicate outsides and sucked her earlobe.
