I was speechless. I thought Astaroth was acting on his own cruelties. But if he was under contract, then this was much worse. We still had no idea who we could trust. And whoever made this contract with Astaroth, put Nienna in his sights. As soon as I found out who it was, they were dead.
"Do you know who made the contract?" I asked, my hands curling into fists.
"No," Atarah shook her head. "Contracts are very private among Demons. The only ones who know anything about them are the ones who signed it," she explained.
"So how do you know about it?" Cepheus asked as he slowly turned from his collection of crystal glasses. I was wondering the same thing...I hated not knowing who we could trust. And Atarah was a Demon...Angel grace or not, she was still a Demon.
