Chapter 7
The series with Detroit was over and the Thunderbolts were on their way home. On the plane, the team was in high spirits. It had been a very successful road trip. They’d swept the Orioles, the Indians, and the Tigers. Those wins plus their victories over the first-place Yankees and Rays before they left had them on a seventeen-game winning streak, definitely turning their season around and probably insuring them a wildcard spot in the playoffs.
O.B. was excited, too. Not only because the team was doing so well but because he was on his way home to Avery. It had only been three days since they’d been together, but he already missed the man terribly. This was another confirmation that love had changed him. He’d never had feelings like this for anyone before.
