I was talking to myself in the elevator. Only in my head, of course, since I had company. They might think I’m crazy if I did it out loud. I was motivating myself and reminding myself that I am now the assistant manager and that I hold a position of authority over them. Therefore, they should no longer take advantage of my assistance. I have been overly accommodating, and my enthusiasm for my promotion led me to overlook their behavior. So they shouldn’t be taking advantage of my help anymore. I’ve been too nice, and I was also too happy about my promotion, so I kept letting them off the hook. But today, I’ve decided that I won’t tolerate it anymore.
