Prologue
Louisse Natasha Vergara
"Miss Vergara ! " Sigaw ng isang estudyante, habang tumatakbong nagmamadaling hinahabol ang hininga sa hallway.
"Yes, James Saragadon?" I turn to where, my student, James, direction.
James Saragadon is a Grade 6 student at Chilvary Academy, the school where I teach now for 3 years.
"C-Can I pass my homework tomorrow, teacher?" Hinahabol ng hininga niya habang nagsasalita .
"And why is that, Mr. Saragadon?" I curiously ask as I raise my left eyebrow.
"My-my father is at the hospital...he's in ICU."
"He's condition is worse. " Napabuntong hininga siya habang nagsasalita.
"Anong nangyari James?!" Napakunot ang noo ko.
"Ermm...something happen, Miss Vergara, and I don't know, they didn't tell me why." He looks down at the floor, with pity.
"Oh?! It's okay James , you can pass it anytime or later on maybe , and pray for your father condition. " Sabi ko sa kanya.
"It's okay na, you can tell me anytime sa mga problema mo at needs mo, since I'm your teacher." I caress his back.
I became more concern for James. Since, James is one of my top students and well standing student in the Chilvary Academy, and he always prioritizes his family over himself, even though he's young. Hindi naman siya nakikipag laro sa mga kaklase niya ,kase aral daw ng mabuti at trabaho lang ang nasa isip niya para sa kaniyang pamilya.
"You had me in your back as your teacher. " Hinaplos ko pa din ang likod niya.
"Take a while assisting your father's health and your assignments, you can pass it on tomorrow or maybe later. Anytime you want, but it must be on time, don't let me wait or pass it after the due day, that I gave you?" I raised my index finger waving it ,as a sign to let him remember not forgetting it.
"Yes, Miss Vergara, thank you for understanding my situation and reconsidering my homework. " Ngumiti siya sa akin pagkatapos niyang yumuko at niyakap ako.
"Your welcome, and remember take care of yourself ha? Don't overwork yourself, remember James ? " Ngumiti ako pabalik sa bata at yumakap .
I got a lot to do today, since I handled Year 3 to Year 6.
"Yes, Miss Vergara, I will ." Tumango siya.
Babalik na sana ako sa direksyon ko, nang naisip ko kung paano babalik ang isang bata sa kanyang tahanan kung walang susundo sa kanya o pupunta sa ospital?
Mga magulang lang kase ang maghahatid sa kaniya, so sino ang maghahatid niya ngayon na aksidente ang kaniyang ama? Siguro ako na ang ina din nito ay nandun din sa ospital.
"Ah, James?" Bumalik ako sa direksyon niya at nag tanong.
"Yes, Miss. Vergara ?" Tumingin siya sa akin.
"Do you have anyone to fetch you? If not so, then how about let me take you to your home or at the hospital safely, if you want to see your father now? Just in case."
"Mapanganib ang maglalakad o ano pa na mag-isa ang isang bata sa isang lugar James , walang lugar o tao ay ligtas sa isang mundo natin ." I added.
"Oh it's okay miss, I have someone to fetch me" He gave me an assurance smile.
"Ah sige , have a safe trip sa pag uwi mo James o sa ospital para makita mo ang iyong ama ." Ngumiti ako sa kanya, bago bumalik sa direksyon ko. Pero, bago iyon, may humintong sports car sa harapan namin.
A man walks towards me and my student. The more I stare at his face, the more the familliar feelings arrive.
I realize it was my ex-boyfriend, Zion, Zion Cohen. We had been together for 8 months, and we meet again after 3 years, now .
"Uh, teacher luna ,this is my uncle Zion Cohen, uncle Zion, this is my teacher, Miss Louisse Natasha Vergara." Pinakilala ako sa estuydante ko sa lalaki na nakatingin sa akin.
Tumingin ako ni James estudyante ko bago tumingin ni Zion pabalik.
"Hello, Miss Vergara. Nice to meet you." he smiled, but the tone of his voice is cold as he offered me a handshake.
I was stunned, super stunned, it's been a while since I last saw him and hear his voice for the past three years.
I miss his voice, his face, his care , appearance, and so much more... he really changes so much throughout these years, huh?
How can he smile like that to me, like... he didn't hurt me?
Why did he show up here?
Why do we have to meet each other?
Why this place? Why do you have to be his uncle?
Why this world is so small? Why? Just why?
Why do we have to meet each other in the first place? And why do we fall each other in the first place?
What a playful destiny...
