"Mom, I already told you that I'm not going back to the Philippines," pagalit kong sabi kay Mommy. She wants me to go there to study our business. I can study and manage it here in Madrid, so bakit kailangan pang umuwi ng Pilipinas? I hate to be there not only because I am not used to the weather but also, my ex-girlfriend who f*****g cheated on me is in the Philippines. Well, it might be a long time now and I moved on but f**k, I am not ready to face them because it bruised my f*****g ego.

"Raze, this is for our company. You need to go there to learn how to manage it. Paano mo mapag-aaralan yo'n if you're not even there? After your law school graduation, you'll fly back to the Philippines immediately. It's better to go back home for a while para alam mo na ang gagawin mo pag bumalik ka ulit. It's just two months, son." Nakikiusap niyang sabi.

I shook my head. "No. I'm not going back home," I said and turn my back on her but I paused because of what she said.

"Is it because of Ara? It's been years, Raze. Until now you still can't get over her?" She's mad now. She knew the relationship I had with Ara and she also knew the reason why we got separated.

"It's not about her. I don't love her anymore. Ayoko lang talaga na bumalik kasi marami pa akong gagawin dito. I can still learn how to manage our business even if I'm here in Madrid. There is no need to go back there!" I said angrily and walk away. Nakaka-frustrate kapag mag-aaway kami ni Mommy. Feeling nya alam niya ang lahat. I am independent. I can manage on my own.

I'm here at Eros house para iwasan si Mommy. I know she will still force me on what she wants me to do. Nagpunta ako sa sala ng bahay nila at umupo doon sa sofa. I rest myself on their sofa and sighed.

It's easier than managing it online. And I miss the Philippines too." Eros suggested. He's right, pero ayoko pa din umuwi. It's better to choose the hard way than the easy way.

"He will choose the hard way, Eros. You know why?" Aries asked playfully.

"Bakit?" Eros asked innocently.

"Kasi nasa Pilipinas si Ara at Anthony," Aries answered Eros while laughing. I just shook my head to them. What's funny?

"Still haven't gotten over her? Baka nakakalimutan mo, Ara cheated on you with Anthony," Eros and Aries laugh together. Why are they laughing? It's not even funny.

"I already moved on. Wala na akong pakialam sa kanila. I just don't want to go back there." I said, irritated now. "Can we please drop the topic?" Pakikiusap ko sa kanilang dalawa.

"Fine," Eros said. Muka pang napilitan ang gago. He hates Ara but he loves to tease me about her. What a clown. "Let's just go clubbing. Kailangan mo lang ng babaeng magpapainit sayo." He suggested.

"Okay. Let's go." Aries excitedly said.

"Seriously? No one can turn me on. They're all boring." I grimace.

Namatay si Lola noong malapit na kaming gum-raduate sa college. Kaya din kami bumalik dito dahil kay Lola at naisipan nalang na mag-stay dito para kahit papaano ay madalaw namin si Lola. Pagkatapos magsimba sa umaga magsasama-sama kami sa hapag para kumain ng lunch. Hanggang gabi ay nananatili kami doon kila Lola.

Nang makarating kami sa simbahan ay agad kong ipinarada ang kotse namin sa gilid at saka lumabas. Ako ang nag-dri-drive ngayon dahil tinatamad daw si Ate mag drive.

Habang naghihintay kami ng misa ay naririnig ko ang pinag-uusapan nila Lola at Ate. Nag-uusap sila about sa kdrama na pinapanood nila. Seriously? My grandma is watching a kdrama?

Nagtuloy-tuloy lang ang kwentuhan nila pero hindi ko na pinansin. After namin magsimba ay umuwi kami sa bahay ni Lola para kumain ng lunch at makipag-bonding sa sa kaniya.

Nagkakatuwaan kami ni Renzo habang naglalaro ng xbox sa sala nang may biglang tumawag sa akin.

"Asan ka?" Tanong agad ni Eros.

"Tangina mo. Naglalaro ako. Mamaya kana tumawag." Galit kong sabi saka nagpatuloy sa paglalaro pero talo pa din dahil umepal na si Eros.

Tumawag ulit siya makalipas ang ilang minuto. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako at saka sinagot ito.

"Asan ka?" Ulit niya sa tanong niya kanina.

"Nakila Lola. Bakit ba?"

"Kila Lola? Sa Las Rozas?"

"Yeah."

"Anong ginagawa mo dyan?"

"Dude the usual. Church day with our Lola." Sarkastikong sagot ko sa kaniya. "Jowa ba kita? Anong kailangan mo?" Tanong ko pa sa kaniya.

"Tarang Kapital." Yaya niya. Ayan nanaman siya nandidimunyu nanaman. Kasisimba ko lang kaya. Saka nakauwi na siya? Ang alam ko nasa Barcelona sila ng family niya.

"Kailan ka pa bumalik? Diba nagbabakasyon ka sa Barcelona?" Nagtatakang tanong ko sa kaniya.

"Yup. Thursday pa sana kami babalik dito sa Madrid pero may emergency daw kasi sa company kaya umuwi nalang kami agad dito sa Madrid." Paliwanag niya sa akin. "By the way may ipapakilala ako sayo."

"Wala akong pakialam," I said immediately.

"May sasabihin nalang ako-" Pinatay ko na agad ang tawag dahil naiirita ako kay, Eros. Natalo ako dahil sa kaniya.

Pagkatapos kausapin si Eros ay nagpunta ako sa kusina kung nasaan si Ate at Lola. They're cooking something. I sat on the highchair and lazily looked at them while my fist is in my cheek.

"Ano po ang niluluto ni'yo?" I asked Lola. She looked at me and smiled.

"Sinigang na baboy, nag-request kasi si Renzo tapos yung Ate mo nagluluto ng shanghai." Sagot niya. Dinungaw ko ang nilapag ni Ate na plato kung saan may laman na limang shanghai, kumuha akong tinidor sa lalagyang nasa gilid ko at saka kumuha ng isa. Kakagat na sana ako pero napatingin ako kay Ate na masama ang tingin sa akin.

"Isa lang." I said and bite the shanghai. She just glared at me and continued cooking.

Ang paalam ko ay isa lang pero nakakalimang kuha na yata ako. Kada maghahango siya ng mga naluto na sa plato at ilalapag sa harapan ko, kumukuha ako ng isa tapos kukuha ulit ako kapag hindi siya nakatingin.

"Hindi po ba pupunta dito sila Mommy, La?" Tanong ni Renzo na kabababa lang galing sa guest room. Umupo siya sa tabi ko at saka kumuha ng shanghai.

"Ang alam ko ay may kasong inaasikaso ang Mommy mo tapos ang Daddy mo naman sunod-sunod ang meeting sa kumpanya. Baka mamayang gabi na ang punta dito ang mga magulang niyo." Sagot ni Lola kay Renzo, inaayos na niya ang hapag para sa tanghalian namin.

"Tss, as usual. Trabaho again." Renzo said with sarcasm.

"Renzo," pagbabawal ni Ate sa kaniya. "Nag-tra-trabaho sila para sa 'tin kaya wag kana mag-tampo sa kanila. Pupunta naman daw dito ng dinner."

"Still not sure tho," Renzo rolled his eyes. Napailing nalang si Ate dahil sa inaasta ni Renzo. Umalis siya sa pagkakaupo niya sa highchair at saka naglakad papunta sa lababo para maghugas ng kamay.

"Tara na kumain ng tanghalian." Pagyayaya sa amin ni Lola. Umalis na ako sa pagkakaupo ko sa highchair at saka naglakad papunta sa lababo para maghugas din ng kamay. Pagkahugas ay nagpunta ako sa hapag saka humila ng upuan para maupo.

Tahimik kaming nagtanghalian hanggang sa marinig namin ang boses ni Eros na nanggagaling sa labas.

"La!" Sigaw niya hanggang sa makarating siya dito sa dining area. "Wow, pakain naman." He said in a joke way saka naglakad papunta sa lababo para maghugas ng kamay at kumuha ng plato't kutsara at tinitor niya bago nagpunta sa upuang nasa tabi ko. Inilapag niya ang kunuha niyang plato't kutsara at tinidor sa lamesa bago hilahin ang upuan sa tabi ko at maupo.

"Hindi ba't nasa Barcelona kayo ng pamilya mo?" Nagtatakang tanong ni Lola kay Eros.

"May emergency daw po sa kumpanya kaya umuwi din kami kaagad and that vacation is not exactly a vacation, it's more likely a business trip," He rolled his eyes bago kumuha ng pagkain. "Mag-isa lang ako doon sa hotel na tinuluyan namin kasi lagi sila nasa meeting. Kaya naman mag-isa akong naglibot-libot doon. Ang boring kaya kapag mag-isa ka lang naglilibot."

"Sana sinama mo kami," natatawang sabi ni Ate.

"Tara do'n next time." Eros said and put his spoon on his mouth.

"Sige sige." Pagpayag ni Ate.

Noong matapos kami magtanghalian nagpunta kami ni Eros sa labas ng bahay para magpahangin.

"May ipapakilala sabi ako sayo, ayaw mo naman." Ismid ni Eros sa akin. Suminghap ako bago siya nilingon.

"Sino ba?" Iritang tanong ko sa kaniya.

He shrugged and stared at me for a while. "Wag na pala," he said and shook his head. "Baka masaktan lang ulit." Pabulong na sambit niya.

Parang tanga talaga 'tong hayop na 'to, kanina lang ay kinukulit ako sa ipapakilala niya, tapos ngayon wag na daw. Ang sarap itakwil.

"Abby is calling me. I'll just answer it." Pagpapaalam niya bago maglakad papunta sa loob ng bahay at sagutin ang tawag sa cellphone niya.
