Kai's POV
"Sa wakas pucha! Isang taon na lang, graduate na tayo! Cheers mga bro!" Adam raised his shot glass, causing the others to raised theirs. Nakipag-cheers din ako even though I felt like there is really nothing to celebrate.
It had only been weeks since Shazmin and I broke up. I didn't even know how I handled our finals week well enough to be on the Dean's list.
"Si Kai ilang years pa pagdadaanan." Adam laughed. "Tutuloy mo na ba talaga pagdo-doctor mo, bro?"
"Yes."
I was dedicated to attain that degree. I didn't realize though that attaining that would mean sacrificing our relationship. It shouldn't have to be that way. Hindi ko maintindihan kung ba't kailangan niya pa 'kong iwan. I could pursue it in the Philippines. I could give up New York for her. I j
