The Assassin

Chapter Five

Everyone just watched him leave and wondered what was on his mind because this was the first time he acted differently. Although when he got to his room, he jumped out of the window and travelled all the way to where he saw the female earlier. He still wants to know why she didn't react when he pointed the sword at her.

He sat down on the roof and stared at the spot where Angel was standing and tried replaying the scene in his mind. He doesn't know why but he feels something different towards her. It was a new feeling for him and the more he tries to figure out what the feeling was, the more he wants to know who the female was.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard someone trying to climb the roof that he was on. He looked on who the person was and glared at him.

"What are you doing here?" He asked as he watch Shane having trouble climbing.

"A little help?" Shane pleaded as he held on tight on the edge of the roof.

Lucifer rolled his eyes then offered a hand which Shane gratefully accepted.

"Thanks…" Shane dusted himself then looked down to where he just climbed. "That was a challenge, how do you climb it so easily?"

"What are you doing here?" Lucifer repeated his question and Shane pouted.

"Always straight to the point, Lead sent me to check if you were fine because after you left, everyone was saying that you were acting strange. So I came here to follow you and since you're the fastest runner in the group, I put a tracker on you to know where you are so I can catch up on you." Shane put out a small device that shows Lucifer's location.

Lucifer reached into his pocket and held what it looks like a rock. He then threw it on the ground and stepped on it, breaking it into small pieces.

"Nooo! Do you know how long it took me to shape this so it can look like a rock!" Shane cried as he tried picking up the bits and pieces of his tracker. "Now I only have three."

"Put a tracker on me again and you're dead." Lucifer threatened.

"Why do you have to be so mean?" Shane whined.

"Tch. None of your business." Lucifer walked past him and was about to leave but Shane stopped him.

"WAIT! I have something important to say!" He yelled and Lucifer stood still. "Rest in peace Rocky number one, you gave me precious memories that I will never forget and now it's time for you to go to heaven."

Lucifer rolled his eyes at Shane then faced him.

"Stop wasting my time!" Lucifer exclaimed.

"Where are you going anyway?" Shane questioned and Lucifer turned around.

"Like what I said, none of your business." Lucifer answered and was about to jump off but what Shane said next made him still.

"You're going to look for her, aren't you?" Shane asked.

"How… how did you know?" He was now worried that Shane might inform Leo about the female.

"Kill all witnesses right? But why did you let her go? Let alone help you get away with the police? I mean you could have easily killed those two police but... why didn't you? What makes her different to the other people you have killed" Shane curiously asked and locked his eyes to Lucifer.

Lucifer was speechless, he doesn't really know the real reason of why he lets the female go.

"I... I don't know." He replied and Shane knew that he was telling the truth.

Out of all the members in the troupe, Shane and Phinks are the closest friend of Lucifer. The two of them were the only one who can put up with his attitude.

"If you ask me, I think this kind of reminds me of that faithful day. Do you still remember it?" As soon as Shane asked this, Lucifer widen his eyes and memories flashed back in his mind.

Flashback

It was the day when Lucifer killed his parents at the age of five. He stabbed his mother on the chest when she was sleeping and poisoned his father.  He then set up everything to make it look like someone murdered his parents.

He even called the police and when the police came, they took him to the orphanage where he met Shane and Phinks. The three of them became closer with each other and were the troublemakers. 

One day, a new orphan came and it was a girl. She got bullied by group of boys and it happened when Lucifer was passing by.

"L-leave me alone please..." The little girl cried while hugging her teddy bear tightly.

"Aw newbie wants us to leave her alone. Well guess what, we don't want to!" One of the boys chuckled and pushed the girl down the ground.

Lucifer watch as the three of them beat her up and after they were satisfied, they left her to suffer in pain. Lucifer was about leave her alone but when he saw that the girl tried standing up on her own, without even crying or complaining that she was in pain, he was drawn into her.

He watch as the girl went to the bathroom and washed her wounds away and fixed herself. He observed how she smile to the other children even though she was in pain. He spied on her day and night trying to find out how she manage to hide all her pain and suffering. One day the same boys approached him.

"Oh look, one of the troublemakers. Not tough without your friends huh?" The leader of the boys said while cracking his knuckles. "Let's beat him up shall we?"

Lucifer was ready to kill the three of them and when he was about to attack, the same girl appeared.

"No! Stop! Please don't hurt him!" The girl went in front of the boy and extended out her hand, with a teddy bear on her right hand.
