The Assassin

Chapter Four

The scene in front of her gave her a shock as an unknown man with a sword stabbed a big guy straight to the heart, blood splattered everywhere. She couldn't believe what she just witnessed, the killer was smaller than the big guy and at least three inches taller than her. She wondered how could a big guy be beaten by someone smaller than him? The killer noticed her presence when she took a step back and she accidentally stepped on a twig.

The killer saw Angel and slowly walked towards her. When he was one meter away from her, he raised his sword and pointed it towards her. Angel couldn't really see his features but when the moon lit on him, she saw that he had grey eyes and black hair that's the same color of a raven. He was wearing a black cloak with a skull printed on the chest.

No one spoke a word, nor move. Angel stayed calmed even though she knew that she could die on her spot. She didn't care though, she believes that if she were to die right now, then her time on Earth had finished. 

It was her wish to die anyway and now her wish is coming true. She waited for the killer to stab her as well but no one made a move. The man that stands before her narrowed his eyes, waiting for Angel's reaction but he didn't receive anything.

He wondered why the female didn't show any signs of fear or action by his threat. If that was other people in front of him right now, they would have ran away and called for help but yet the woman standing before him just stood there like she doesn't care if she were to die.

"Lucifer! Where are you?! Are you done with your job? We need to go!" A voice of a man called out.

At the same time, two police came. The killer looked around before jumping at the nearest roof and hid there. Angel was amazed on how he quickly climbed the roof as if it was nothing.

"We are now at the alleyway, I repeat we are now at the alleyway. No sign of the target yet." One of the police said.

Angel glanced from the killer then to the Police. She then got her pocket knife and slowly placed it on the dead man's chest before stepping away from it. She then ran towards the two police who pointed their gun at her.

"Help me officer! T-that guy just stabbed himself!" Angel pretended to be scared and they put away their gun.

"Don't worry ma'am, we got this under control." The other police tried comforting her. 

"We need an ambulance, I repeat we need an ambulance right now." The police checked the dead body and took a photo while the other officer comforted Angel.

"I need to ask you a few questions, is that fine for you?" 

"Y-yes officer." Angel nodded.

After the interview, Angel watched as the killer preparing to leave, he looks back at her before disappearing from sight. She was a bit disappointed because he didn't end her life. One of the police offered to drop her home but she refused because it was only five minutes walk.

When she turned around the corner, she accidentally bumped onto a person who has blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Pardon me, I wasn't really looking on where I was going." The male apologized then left.

She wondered if that was the one who called out 'Lucifer' but they didn't have the same voice so she continued heading to her apartment.

"What a day…" Angel mumbled and placed her jacket back to the stand then went on her table.

She stared at the paper for a while before she fell asleep. Meanwhile, through the dark forest there's an abandoned church where no one dared to visit. It is said that the place was haunted, anyone who try and enter never came back. Although no one knew that a group of thugs lives there because they never came back alive to tell anyone about it.

"Alright, what's the report?" The leader of the thugs asked as nine of his members assembled.

"I managed to hacked into the system and is ready to kill all the cameras when the time comes. Easy peasy lemon squeezy without a sweat." A guy with a blonde hair and blue eyes happily answered.

"There are seven guards at the banks and fourteen employees. Four of the employees seems to be a newbie and the manager always stays at his office." A blonde and blue eyed girl said.

"I see, Kolleen ETA of the police?" The leader turned to a black haired girl with light brown eyes.

"About fifteen minutes but I can delay them to thirty." The male replied.

"How about the witnesses Lucifer?" The leader made eye contact to a raven-haired man who goes by the name Lucifer.

Lucifer ignored the leader and he seems to be in a deep thought. Everyone looked at him because they knew so well that he never get distracted by anything and was always answering immediately to their leader.

"Lucifer?" The leader called out his name again and this time, he snapped back to reality and  gave his attention to the leader.

"What's that Leo?" He questioned and the leader was a bit shocked.

This is because Lucifer never calls him by his real name. He would usually call him Boss, Sir or Captain.

"You seemed… to be not yourself today, did something happen on your mission?" Leo was now curious on why one of his member was acting different.

"No, got rid of him." Lucifer stated and avoided eye contact.

"Anything else?"

"Aside from his annoying screams, that is all." Lucifer then stood up and excused himself. "I need to rest."

This time, Leo was sure that something was not right because Lucifer would always stays at the end of the meeting, without taking a rest for a day or two.
