Who are you?

1417 Words
Loud noises can still be heard outside that building. Students on the booths are still busy. Sun don’t know what to do. She’s just looking at her phone while hugging both of her legs. She saw 20 missed calls from her friend but she’s hesitating to call her back because she knew that Ji would be worried as hell. “I should stay here before the sunrise.” She whispered to herself. She decided to stay for a couple of minutes and tried to sleep for a moment. Not until someone patted her from her back. She almost jumped and her heart beat faster than ever. She held the hand of that person tightly. And to her surprise, it was the boy. They looked at each other for a couple of minutes. Sun can’t help it but to hold on tighter to his hand. She felt betrayed hours ago but she can’t let go of his hand. After realizing that they are holding each other’s hands for too long and realizing that she’s not nervous anymore, Sun releases his hand, stood up and tried to go out of the building without even telling a word. But the boy prevented her from doing so. “I’ve been looking for you the whole time. I’ll never let you go like this.” Sun noticed that he’s with the group of students. “What’s the point of looking for me? You’re with your friends already.” “Well, I’m sorry. They are not my friends.” Sun looked at him in the eyes. “I just came to their booth to print my camera shots because I wanted to give them to you. They followed me and offered a free photo-shoot when I bring a friend. I wanted to surprise you and that is why we had to talk about the plan. I didn’t know you'd see us.” Sun looked down because of the embarrassment. She’s not sure of what to say or what to do. “They helped me look for you because I was really worried. By the way, their booth is not closed yet, would you join me and take a photo at their photobooth?” Sun looked at the students who were nodding their heads in anticipation of her agreeing, then looked back at the boy. He sighed but in relief. “I’m really sorry that I’ve misinterpreted you. “ “So, shall we take the photo-booth? I promise you, there are not that many students anymore.” The two of them took the privilege of having a free shot from the booth as promised. They’ve got their own copies of the photos. The two decided to walk home after the shoot. The boy got a small paper bag from his bag and gave it to Sun. “What’s this?” “Just open it.” Sun carefully opened the paper bag and saw that it was the photos he promised Sun. She looked at it one by one and she was really surprised. “How did you get these photos of mine? This was from the gymnasium. This one was even before we met at the exit gate yesterday?” “Well, honestly. The moment you got out of your friend’s car, you already caught my attention. Luckily, I saw you again at the gymnasium so I took some photos of you just as a remembrance because I might not see you again. Who would have thought that we'd see each other again and even spent time almost for a day.” “People would have thought that you’re a creepy stalker because of that. But these are beautiful. I should be thankful that my photos turned out to be this beautiful.” “Well, you really are beautiful.” Sun was stunned and overwhelmed by that. She looked at him with her eyes smiling and whispered, “Thank you” for the second time. “By the way, we’re together for almost 24 hours butI haven’t asked for your name. What is it then?” “Yeah, right. I’m Sun. I’m at my third year. How about you?” “I’m M-“ Suddenly, they are interrupted by the ringing of Sun’s phone. It was a call from Ji. [“Hey! Where are you? You’re not here at your Condo and I’ve been calling you a million times yesterday. Why aren’t you answering my calls?”] The voice from the other line was too loud that the boy can even hear her. “Hey, hey. Calm down. I’m here at the Campus. I’m here at our College building.” [“What are you doing there at this hour? Or you haven’t gone home since yesterday? Why didn’t you tell me?] “I’ll tell you everything later, okay? Fetch me here now.” [“Alright, we’re on our way, stay where you are.”] “Alright, bye.” Sun dropped the call and looked back to the boy. “What was it again?” The boy just smiled. “Is that your friend?” “Yeah, my one and only friend.” “Well, you’ve got the perfect friend. I bet she loves you that much.” “I hope so.” “Well, I have to go also. I have a make-up class by 8am. So I have to wash up and prepare for it. You sure you can wait for your friend here alone?” Sun nodded. “So, goodbye. And again, thank you.” “Will we see each other again?” “We’re at same campus, Sun.” The boy waived goodbye and run away. After waiving back, Sun realized that she didn’t even know his name or anything about him except the tragedy that happened last year. Hoping to see him again soon, she waited for her friend to come and rest for that whole day since she had no classes. Sun is just staring at the photos the boy gave and was still in amazement that all of it happened yesterday. She decided to put them all at the work-board of her study area. “I should have taken a selfie with him on my phone as a remembrance.” Her doorbell rang so she ran towards it and see that it was Ji. “Oh, I thought you going home?” “What are you doing? Am I disturbing you?” “No, not at all. What’s the matter?” “Tell me what happened yesterday.” After showing Sun that she got some snacks on her hand, Ji pulled Sun at her couch. “Well, it was a really long story.” “I can give you my whole day for it.” “So, yes, I’m on my way towards the exit gate when I left you. But unfortunately, the gate was clogged since the parade was about to start. I got panic attacks. Luckily, there’s this boy that helped me.” And Sun told everything that happened. “Why are you crying?” Sun noticed that Ji was about to cry after hearing her story. “I just can’t believe that you have talked to me with more than ten words today.” Ji seems to fake her cry but she’s really emotional about the fact that Sun has told her a whole story. But with this, she earned a hit from Sun. “Hey! I have told you some stories before.” “Yeah, stories about what you’ve read on the internet. Today was the first time that you have elaborated a story about your personal experience. I’m also glad that you’ve got a way to endure and face your phobia. I wonder what he looks like. I want to meet him to personally thank him for you. By the way, what’s his name?” “I have a picture of him there (pointing to her study area). But I haven’t asked for his name though.” “What? You’ve been together for almost a day but you don’t know each other’s names?” “If I remember it correctly, I told her my name. But I didn’t hear his name because at that moment, I was talking to you on the phone.” “That was sad. I hope we meet him someday. Let me see what he looks like.” Ji stood up and went to the study area. “Infairness, he looks really good.”
