AFTER a few moments of anticipation, I finally heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hall. I turned to see Sir McHael emerging from the shadows, his cane tapping softly against the floor.
“Sir Nick!” Minutes exclaimed, her voice laced with surprise.
He paused just outside the kitchen entrance, taking a deep breath before stepping inside. The moment he crossed the threshold, a stunned silence fell over the room.
