Sunday morning the day after the wedding.
Luna woke up in Jace's arms. The sunlight streaming through the curtains. Peaceful. Warm. Safe.
For a moment, she forgot about everything. Ang laban ni kontra sa ama ni Jace. Ang plano. Ang panganib.
Ngayon lang—she's just a newly married woman. With her husband. Happy.
Gumalaw si Jace. Slowly opening his eyes.
"Good morning, wife," bulong niya habang may ngiti sa labi.
"Good morning, husband," bulong ni Luna sa asawa nito.
They kissed. Soft. Sweet. Morning kiss.
"How does it feel?" tanong ni Jace. "Being married?"
"Amazing," sagot ni Luna. "Scary pero amazing. Ikaw?"
"Same," sabi ni Jace. "But also—ready. Ready for whatever comes next."
Kasi they both know. Today is the calm before the storm.
Tomorrow—Monday—they execute the plan.
