I stretched my arms and yawned when my eyes adjusted with the sun's blazing rays.
Mom, obviously, entered my room again and put the curtains to the side to let some sun in.
I groaned and turned to my side. It's not like I don't want the sun.
I love summer! And the feel of sea breeze on my skin!
But, I just hate it when my skin get burnt unevenly!
The tan lines may fade, yes, it is understandable. But, let's be honest, you don't get to wear sleeveless clothes because some people may look at you in a weird way.
"Hey, Des! Wake up! It's almost lunchtime!" Mom yelled from our dining room.
"Be there in a sec!" I yelled back and laid on my back. I tried ignoring the sun's rays but got fed up.
I decided to get up and fix my bed before going to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
"Morning, child." Daddy smiled and I nodded, still sleepy.
My drowsiness wavered when I smelled the coffee's aroma. I felt awakened and happy instantly.
I don't know if this is just a psychological perception or what but coffee has always been my happy pill.
I blew on my cup before bringing it to my lips. "Ah! This is the life!" I exclaimed.
"So, now you are awake!" Mom commented while we start on our breakfast.
I nodded with a smile. I bit on my share of bacon and dig in some rice.
After we finished eating, we agreed to have our Zumba session an hour later. Since it's the weekend, I relaxed myself and played on Wordscape on my phone. It was a mind and English Vocabulary game so I was engaged in it.
My interest in such mind games started when I was a kid. I easily get bored and dissatisfied with stuff toys and barbies.
When I found out about Word Search and Word Puzzles, I immediately asked my parents to buy me some. I actually grow a collection of them and were displayed in my bedroom corner.
With the coming of new age, games like that even innovated too. Now, I have this Wordscape installed in my phone.
"Hey, it's about time." Mom remarked and I glanced at the clock.
I opened our television, switched it to Youtube and searched for Zumba sessions. Once it started, both of us danced with it. After thirty minutes, we were almost out of breath.
We sat and drank water before resting our legs and feet on our stools.
"I want some ice cream!" Mom exclaimed while wiping the sweat which trickled down her neck.
I seconded her statement and dad went to the fridge to pull out our gallons of Coffee Crumble and Double Dutch.
Another reason why we engaged in Zumba on weekends is because of our lack of exercise.
We tend to ran out of air just by going up and down our stairs so I suggested this weekend habit.
Mom approved of it and we have it done for more than six months already.
I had my own scoops of coffee crumble and I swear, this is heaven.
"You love coffee that much, huh. " Dad commented. " I wonder what will happen to you if you don't have coffee for a day."
I just grinned at him and brought the spoonful of ice cream in my mouth.
Coffee is my safe haven.
I love everything coffee!
