Ian’s POV
I had no idea why Agua suddenly piqued my interest. I wasn't the type to entertain distractions, yet here I was, choosing to come to her place just to learn more about her. It was reckless— out of character—but for some reason, I didn't care.
A strange feeling settled in my chest- something unfamiliar, something I wasn't used to. Sympathy wasn't something I often entertained, but with her, it was different. The thought of her facing the world with no one but an aging grandmother made my grip tighten around the frame in my hand, it was a picture of her and her grandmother.
I didn't understand why it affected me this much. I barely knew her, yet here I was, wanting to shield her from whatever hardships she had endured. Maybe it was her strength that intrigued me.
