Kabanata 21: Tired
There are some days that I would look at myself in the mirror and ask, “Ito ba talaga ‘yong gusto ko? Ito ba talaga iyong magiging ako? Sa future? Ganito ba ‘yong kalalagyan ko?” kahit minsan hindi ko pa rin talaga alam kung saan ako patungo at kung sino ako sa hinahanarap, kung magagawa ko rin ba ‘yong nagawa ni lola na pangako sa sarili niya? Eh, hindi naman kami magkatulad ng karanasan ni lola, malayo pero mukhang malapit naman.
First child. Daughter. Asian family. Striving so hard every day, not just to have them feel proud of me, for all the things that I have achieved in the palm of my hands, and for all the recognition I gave honor to because of my hard work and determination but to also—feel that unknown feeling I cannot explain.
