5. Volks Academy

August's POV

Can you guess where I am right now? Well, nandito lang naman ako sa tahanan ng pamilya ni Genieva. Yep, tama kayo ng basa. Nasa tahanan niya ako. Siya daw ang aampun sa akin since I am homeless.

Halos malula ako ngayon sa sobrang laki ng bahay nila. The house is not like western or european na nakikita ko dati o sa TV ng mayayamang tao. Their house are like a futuristic design. It was made of glass and steel and everything is white. Very unusual. Very unexpected for an Alien.

"Is this your house?" Tanong ko sa kanya. Manghang-mangha ako sobra.

Umiling naman ito. "This is our villa. Our home is located in a different continent. We have villa here, dahil na rin sa Academy. We only have one Academy in Pandora. That's why. Though we have a University called Wilson University, pero nag-iisa lang din yun para sa mga non-magic." Sagot nito na talagang nagpaliwanag.

"I see." Sagot ko naman. Ang wierd. Sa Earth ang dami-daming universities, pero dito scarse ang education dahil iisa lang ang paaralan. Take note, the entire world. Unbelievable, but it is the truth. "Parang napaka... unwise naman na iisa lang ang paaralan sa buong mundo niyo. I mean, sa population niyo, di ba hirap ang Academy?" Tapos, dadagdag pa ako? Gusto ko sanang idugtong yun pero pinilit ko na lang na sarilihin yun.

"Nope. Hindi yun pangkaraniwang paaralan na basta-basta mapapasok lang nga kung sinu-sino. Lahat ng enrollees ay dadaan sa matinding salaan. If you will fail, you will not be able to join the school. As simple as that." Sagot naman nito.

Hindi naman pala ganun kadali tulad ng inisip ko. Parang may entrance exam pa at mukhang di madali yun dahil sa dami ng mga aplikante.

Huminto kami sa isang pinto na gawa sa titanium steel ata to sa sobrang kintab. Wierd dahil may mga nakaukit doon na mga bulaklak and there is even colors in it. I am not sure kung pinintahan yun o talagang wierd lang ang bakal na to.

"Wow. The door really looks amazing." Puri ko. Talagang maganda ang pinto. Parang gusto ko itesting ang pintong yun. Kaya may naisip akong ideya.

Without any second thought ay sinipa ko ang pinto. Then suddenly a static of familiar feeling rushed up from my toe nails, ankle and leg.

"Ouch! What the f**k!" Di ko napigilang mapamura. Sobrang sakit naman kasi eh. As in, ang tibay. Di matibag at di man lang ata gumalaw iyon.

Nakatingin naman sa akin si Genieva na parang nasisiraan na ako ng bait dahil sinipa ko ang bakal na pinto.

"Are you crazy? That is the world's unmeltable steel. You are really unbelievable." Saad nito na napailing-iling pa.

As in? Buti na lang at malabakal din itong binti ko dahil baka napilay na ako ngayon. Pero pramis ang sakit talaga. Hinding hindi na ako uulit. Pero, bakit pala nasa harap kami ng pintong ito? Is this an entrance to something unusual?

"By the way, this will be your room from now on." Saad nito na tila ang tagal rumehistro sa utak ko ang mga sinabi nito.

Ano daw?

Kaninong kuwarto daw ito? Sa akin? As in? This very super amazing door is my room?

"Oh please stop that look. You look like an idiot." She even roll her eyes!

"Ay grabe naman siya oh! Di ba pwedeng na-shock?" Reklamo ko naman. Grabe, natural na magugulat ako kasi bago sa akin ang lahat ng ito.

Bumuntong hininga ito. "Sorry, I forgot that you came from another world. But seriously wala bang ganito sa inyo?"

"We do have pero they are made for big buildings at elevators lang ang may bakal na pinto. The normal house there has a wooden door." Paliwanag ko naman. Talagang wooden door naman talaga ang pinto sa Earth.

"Er, what is an elevator? And you mean wood. Like trees?" Panigurado nito.

"Nevermind the elevator. Trees, yes. Tree trunks were cut to create slabs and turn this into a door or furniture." Paliwanag ko ulit.

"Wierd. Trees are just useful for bonfire." Saad nito na nawiwierduhan sa sinabi ko. "But before anything, why don't you stroll inside? Don't you have a plan on seeing your new room?" Nakangiting saad nito.

Crap! Ngayon ko lang naalala. Masyadong nalunod ako sa pakikipagdaldalan kay Genieva. Nakalimutan ko na dapat pa la akong ma-excite sa new room ko. Hinawakan ko ang bakal na handle at pinihit iyon. Unti-unting ko yung itinulak na to my surprise ay hindi naman pala ganun ka bigat. It just seem like a normal door.

Tumambad sa kin ang isang magarang kuwarto. The ceilings were carved with unknown design. The walls are a shade of beige. The carpeted floor are made of red velvet. And the most attraction there is a queen size four postered bed with golden silks that are being curtained and bed sheets that are color gold as well as the pillows and blankets. The room is too spacious. There are bookshelves with books in it already. But odd, there are no windows. There is even a single sofa with a study table. Amazing is an understatement. The room is very luxurius to the point of it seems like a dream.

Lumingon ako kay Genieva, I know she already guess what I am thinking right now. "Is this serious?" Tanong ko.

"Do I look like I am joking?" Sagot naman nito at halatang proud na proud.

"Damn!" Naisambit ko na lang.

Di pa ako nakakamove on sa kabonggahan ng kuwarto ko ay kinaladkad na naman ako ni Genieva palabas dahil may pupuntahan daw kami. Pero bago pa yun ay pinagbihis muna ako nito ng unusual na damit. It is lengthy at similar siya sa chinese kimono. Honestly, I don't like the dress. 1st time ko na ganitong damit ang suot-suot. I like wearing jeans or army pants and tshirts. 

"Wala ba kayong ibang damit bukod dito?" Reklamong tanong ko kay Genieva.

"That is your us-, I mean that is the only available clothes right now. We can shop later on." Sagot naman nito na parang wala lang dito ang pamimili mamaya.

"So, where are we going?" Tanong ko naman dito. We are now riding a carriage. Yes! A carriage. It feels like cinderella.

"We are going to Volks Academy." Sagot nito habang may mga papel itong chinicheck.

"Right now?" Parang hapon na nga ngayon. With my hunch, mga alas kuwatro na ng hapon if the time here and earth are the same.

"Yes, you need to fill up the forms by the end of the day. The school is only giving us until tonight for your submission." Sagot nito na di man lang inalis ang pagkakatingin sa papel na kung ano man ang nakalagay ay ito lang din ang nakakaalam.

"Wow. That is really a very restrictive time frame." I uttered unbelievably.

"Well, class started last two weeks ago so basically, the school won't accept any enrollees. But you are an exemption, it was the council who requested for a reconsideration for your late submission. The council already arranged everything so you won't need to undergo filtration." Paliwanag nito.

Tumango-tango na lang ako kahit ang totoo eh, wala naman talaga akong maintindihan. Isa lang ang alam ko. Their rules is a total wierdo. Their rules is a word of impossible. Very unrealistic, but then again nasa ibang planeta nga pala ako. Ngayon ko lang naisip, totoo kaya ang planet nemic? Hehehe.

Tumanaw na lang ako sa labas. The trees there really looks old and gigantic. Buti di uso ang illegal logging dito, dahil tiyak malaki ang kita dito. Everywhere has a greenery. Hindi siya mga weeds they are like bermuda but not. I can even see wild flowers na parang kabuti kung sumibol dahil magkakalayo sila sa isa't-isa. The skies are the same. They are blue but I can see a silhouete of a big planet. Yes parang sobrang lapit nito. The mountains are like towers. It is not a typical mountain like Mt. Mayon or Mt. Apo. They are like empire state building all of them but mountain.

I can only see them in fantasy movies or 3D animated films. But now, here I am watching them. Everything is a perfection of oddness but undeniebly beautiful.

"Wow, I never imagined an alien world could be this beautiful." Naisaad ko na lang. I can see there are flying birds but I am not sure if those are really birds.

"Why? What did you expect?" Napasmirk naman si Genieva na napatingin sa akin.

Lumingon naman ako sa kanya. "You know, we have movies back in Earth. Some are portraying an Alien world which is a total opposite world with yours. There is no green. There is no oxygen. Everything is rocks and dead soil. Plants are unable to live. It is a place where like a plague." Paliwanag ko naman.

"Wow. You humans has really morbid imagination with things like this. Listening about that, maybe our appearances are also morbid." Di makapaniwalang sagot naman nito.

"You bet. Humans has the image of a skinny and boney creatures with large head and leaf shaped eyes. There are instances, that it even looks worst." Sagot ko naman dito.

"Wow. Just wow." Tanging saad nito. "Good thing now you seen us. We still look like human."

"Yes and no." Sagot ko.

"Why?" Anito.

"Yes because your physical structure were identical with humans. And no, because you are all too much for the good lookingness. I never seen yet any unattractive person here, since I came." Sagot ko naman dito. Yes tama kayo ng iniisip. Walang panget. They are all like beautiful models. Stunning and gorgeous.

Napataas naman ang kilay nito sa sinabi ko. "And so are you." Saad naman nito sa akin.

Napakurap naman ako sa sinabi niya. Does she mean na maganda din ako? "I was told many times that I am pretty. But I really do not believe it." Sagot ko naman rito.

She looked at me unbelievably. "You have no idea how lucky you are to have that face August." Saad nito na tila may ibang kahulugan pa. It feels like she mean something else pero baka naman paranoid lang ako mashado.

Napatingin na lang ako uli sa labas ng bintana at una kong napansin kagad ay isang matataas na bakud yari sa isang makinang na metal na kulay tanso. Kaya naman ay inilabas ko ang aking ulo para mas makita ko ang nasa unahan.

My face went like that when I saw a very huge castle like structure sa loob ng bakod. Para siyang disney pero di naman exact replica. Everything is shinning. Parang ang sarap tiltilin ng kahit ano doon at ibenta sa pawnshop.

"Genieva, is that the Castle of Veneesha?" Manghang tanong ko kay Genieva.

"Nope. Definitely not." Napailing iling naman ito habang inaayos na ang mga papel na kanina ay isa-isang tiningnan nito.

Nagtaka naman ako. Kung hindi yan palasyo, ano ang pagkalaki-laking bagay na yan? "Then what is that?" Nagtatakang tanong ko sa kanya.

"You will find out later on." Sagot naman nito.

Saktong huminto ang kalesa at bumaba na si Genieva. Bumaba na rin ako dahil gusto ko na makita in full view ang istraktura. At di nga ako nagkamali, mas nakakamangha ito sa malapitan. The main gate is as high as twenty story building. The gate is made of gold I think and thick and solid. There were carvings that makes the gate more so unrealistic. My gosh, di ba takot mga tao dito na baka nakawin ang gate dito? Kung sa pilipinas pa ito, matagal ng nachopchop ito.

At sa itaas ng gate ay may Artistic lettering ng VA na parang style ng Volkswagen logo pero imbes VW ay VA ang nakalagay. I have already a hint about those initials pero it could be also different. Ayoko naman maging asumera.

Then the gigantic gate slowly created a creak when it started to open. At unti-unting tumatambad sa aking mga mata ang malapanaginip na lugar.

"Welcome to Volks Academy." Turan sa akin ni Genieva.

And here I am. Looking to a dreamlike reality.
