Episode 14

“That child won’t do something like that.” Linfred shook his head. “That child or that woman?” Fodel crossed his arms and brought one of his hands to his chin. “I mean the child.” Linfred replied. “How can you say that for sure?” Fodel asked. “Because I saw marks on the child’s body. She had a rough life on her young age and was constantly beaten up by that useless b***h. That stupid woman released all her hatred towards the child. I suppose that would be a strong proof that their relationship wasn’t good at all. Even the child said that she doesn’t have anyone who she can say her mother.” Linfred stated. Fodel was stunned upon hearing Linfred’s story about the child. He kind of understands why the woman had that kind of hatred towards the emperor, and given the fact that the child was the emperors. But what she did to the child was just far unjustifiable. “That woman even went to the extent of stabbing the child’s eyes, causing her blindness. She really did everything to my child.” Linfred grinned like an incarnate of a demon itself have rose to the ground. His bloodlust rose, and had an aura of wanting to kill intently. “That woman did that?” Fodel was shocked in disbelief. “And what had come to this people who treated the child this way? Did you kill them?” “Do you really think I am that merciful to just kill them without paying properly to what they have done to my child?” Linfred snorted. “So, what did you do?” Fodel asked. “Of course, to even the debts they have to me. I let them experience what I didn’t actually experienced.” The emperor smirked. “Didn’t experience?” “My daughter was beaten almost to her death without me even knowing it. I only learned her existence recently because they try to use her in exchange for their freedom. How foolish of them, did they really think I would take the bait and let them slide through that?” Linfred stood up and gaze outside the window. “Just after I learned her existence, I have uncovered what she went through in that woman’s hands. Nothing could piss me off that easily, don’t you think?” Fodel could imagine what Linfred might have done. “So, you…” Linfred brought his gaze back to Fodel. “Yes! I also took her other daughter and got her whipped in front of them, and stabbed the eyes of her son. I need to get them to pay for what they have done!” He erupted into laughter. “That woman should be grateful to me since I only took one eye to her son while she had both of my daughter’s eyes.” Fodel could only stare at the emperor and got lost on his thoughts. I know this man was crazy enough to do anything he wanted, whenever and wherever it might be. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he ended up killing everyone there right in the moment considering they committed such things that he got furious about. But what surprised me was he did all of that all because of his daughter. I guess that’s the first time he did something for someone. There’s a limit where we can stop him from what he does. There’s a limit when he’ll listen to us. Maybe even if I came along there with Taran, I’m sure neither one of us could stop him. Also, I can imagine Taran didn’t stop him since he was also in raged with the thought that the child or the princess went all through that hell. The Emperor and his commanders were really crazy enough at their own levels. But that does include me. I didn’t know and expect that someday this man would have a normal family. Well, it was already surprising that he had a daughter actually and brought her here at his own will. And what’s more surprising was how he acts to the child. I suppose he can be a father as well. An over protective father to be exact. If someone dared to lay a finger to his daughter even if it’s just the tip of her hair, I’m sure whoever dared to do that will be beheaded at an instant. I wonder if that child will become his weakness or not. After knowing this, the enemy could set a trap for him while taking his daughter. I can pretty tell that he will rush at the scene without even thinking. Seriously, I really had thought that he will just kill the child or disown her after learning about her. What happened 10 years ago, he never told us or anything but we know him that long enough that we can tell that he’s being genuine towards Alyona. However, that woman betrayed him and his first showing up of feelings and got broken. I don’t really know if Lady Janette can actually change his heart. I suppose he doesn’t put his trust on any woman that easily again. And then this child came and gave him another reason to open up again. “It would probably be better if it was a son,” Fodel muttered softly. “What do you mean?” Linfred raised an eyebrow. Fodel snapped back to reality after hearing Linfred’s voice. “Y–yes! I– I was just thinking it would have been better if the child was a boy. I guess it could have been better for you and for the country of Asseraviel.” “And why would that be?” Linfred’s eyes narrowed into slits. “Because if the child was a boy, he will automatically become the crown prince. And he could actually inherit the crown someday without a problem. Rather than a princess, that would become your weakness at some point. Our enemies could send assassins or spies to take her as their hostage and set a trap for you.” Fodel crossed his arms. “Knowing you… you would probably act as an overprotective father, and will rush at the scene without thinking.” “My daughter is fine. I will do anything to keep her safe all the time.” Linfred smiled. “That’s what I just told you… and if I may ask who will be your successor? Don’t tell me you are actually planning to make her the crown princess?” “Why not?” Linfred smirked. Fodel could only sigh. Of course, he decides everything! That’s what he yelled in the back of his mind.
