Chapter 04: Did I Change It?

When we got inside of the palace, the maids as usual welcomed us. I saw Alice and her brother Ashton walked towards our direction. Alice is holding a tray with refreshments and Ashton is holding a towel, well I guess it is for me since I am the only one who is actually sweaty because of the training.

"How's the knight in training milady?"- Alice asked kasabay ng pag lapit niya saamin ng tray kung saan nandoon ang dalawang juice. Nox grab his own glass and so did I. Ashton also handed me a towel that I gladly accepted and put it around my neck.

"Well, I still don't have the right to judge them since it is only their second day" - nakangiti kong saad. And I saw she smiled maybe because she saw how I too improved in judging the trainees. Well last year I always complained how I easily defeated the trainees and after a week they improved so much which really scared me because their improvements can be compared to the knights already.

I asked Alice and Ashton about that and they only said that the knights took my strength as an inspiration to get stronger because the trainees believe that it is their job to protect me and my family and if we can already know how to protect ourselves and they cannot even match our strength and speed then they are considered useless and they do not deserve the job of being a knight.

Well they have a point actually.

"By the way your highness and milady, the King and Queen is requesting for your presence after you changed into your comfortable clothes" - Alice said which made me look at Nox.

"They are going to formally inform you about the invitation" - Nox said through the use of telepathy which made me shrug my shoulders. Well, I already know that what the invitation is and what is the meaning behind it so it doesn't really matter.

After I changed my clothes with the help of Alice, since in this world persons who are part of the royal family or nobles are always assisted by their maids. Even though I can perfectly handle myself, Alice always insist on helping me because it is her job. Wala nadin naman akong magagawa kung iyon din naman ang kaligayahan niya. Nakikita ko din naman kasi kung gaano siya kasaya kapag tinutulungan niya akong mag-ayos ng aking sarili.

Sometimes I think that Alice will stay single forever, in the original plot when Eclipse Raeliana died, she left the kingdom and decided to live on her own on some place far from the palace. Her home however are full of Raeliana's pictures and she often have memories of Raeliana's smiling face. Ashton, her brother, always visited her until a few years later, Alice committed suicide for not being able to handle the sadness of her lady's death.

Also if I remember correctly a month after Alice's death the Wynknight couple and Linox found her diary, or rather it was given by Ashton and they were enraged with what they read, the fact that Raeliana was always been framed and she never done anything wrong. Raeliana also got bruises all over her body that she got from the punishment of the female lead.

Because of their anger, the Wynknight kingdom declared a war, unfortunately they did not won and they all died miserably.

At ngayong ako na si Eclipse Raeliana, I am going to make sure that no one in the Wynknight Kingdom, my family, the maids and the knights will experience their death caused by the Empire or other neighboring countries. This kingdom will not fall. Not under my watch.

"Milady? Are you okay?" - biglang tanong ni Alice dahilan para mapabalik ako sa realidad. I heave a deep sigh before smiling brightly at her. I held her two hands and I stared at her red eyes.

"I will protect you Alice, I promise" - madamdamin kong saad at kitang kita ko ang pagkabigla sa kanyang mukha ngunit agad din naman itong napalitan ng tawa.

"What are you saying milady? I am the one who should protect you" - she said and I just nod my head in agreement.

"Let's go meet my parents" - I said at tumayo na ako mula sa aking kinauupuan at naglakad na ako palabas ng aking kwarto. I already know that she will actually say that but even so, I will still protect her while she is protecting me. Because Alice is like a family to the original Raeliana and to me as well.

After a few minutes we arrived at my father's office.

"I'll be waiting outside milady" - Alice said and I nod my head with a smile on my face. Bumaling ako sa dalawang knight na nasa tabi ng pinto.

"You can announce my presence" - I said giving permission to tell my father and mother that I have arrived. Pumasok ang gwardiya sa opisina and after a few seconds the door opened at bumungad saakin ang aking magulang at si Nox na nakaupo sa sofa.

Naglakad na ako papasok and the door automatically closed.

"Greetings, Father and Mother" - I greeted the two of them and I slightly bowed to pay my respects since they are the rulers of our kingdom and I am merely a princess that still needs to prove herself.

"Eclipse, you can greet us informally like you used to when you are still a child" - my father said with a smile dahilan para mapangiwi ako.

Yeah, I often greet them informally when I was younger. Well, I only did that because they loved it and I always have the reason of being just a kid and still cannot understand the proper greeting for the King and Queen. But now that I am old enough, I need to greet them formally already especially during occasions.

"Your dad is right sweetheart. We miss your informal side so much" - mom said at umakto pa siya na parang nagpupunas ng kanyang luha dahilan para lalo akong mangiwi.

They are the rulers of our kingdom yet they are acting like this?! For goodness sake! Paano kaya hinandle ng orginal na Raeliana ang gantong klaseng magulang?

"Nox! You better help me with this one!" - I said with the use of telepathy to my brother but he did not even look at me or even gave me a reply.

I guess I am on my own. Damn.

"Alright mom and dad." - I replied at kitang kita ko kung paano lumawak ang ngiti nilang dalawa. s**t! I just got caught in a trap!

"*ehem* Father, if I remember it correctly you are going to say something regarding the Empire's invitation right?" - seryosong singit ni Nox. At kitang kita ko kung paano nabilaukan si dad. Well, Nox always have the habit of ruining our parents mood. He is actually the perfect example for a killjoy human being.

"Yes yes of course" - my father said as he handed me an invitation. I took it and finally I got to sit next to Nox. Nakakapagod kayang tumayo lalo na kapag naka heels.

"Well the Emperor invited us to take part at the upcoming Grand Royal Ball the day after tomorrow. It is a gathering of all royalty and nobles from every continent since the Emperor himself is planning to change the royal decree. Me and your mother guessed that the Emperor may be looking for a suitable wife for his sons. And also the Emperor informed us ahead that a prophecy has been declared that a great Empress that will come from another continent who will be the wife of one of his sons will be coming to that ball" - dad said and he took a sip of his rosemary tea. Tsk as I expected, that annoying Emperor is looking for a suitable wife for his annoying sons. Well, in the original novel he greatly favored Raeliana, however when a prophecy appeared that the wife of his son should be one with black hair and that also came from the Empire, Raeliana was set aside.

She is really such a pitiful girl in the original novel.

"Also, the event will be considered as a festival. We are expected to stay there for three days. The first day will be the Grand Royal Ball where everyone will be introduced the second day will be a hunting competition and the third day will be another ball which is the Departure Ball" - Mom said with a smile and me and Nox both nod our head in understanding.

So we are going to stay in the Empire for three days...-- wait a minute-- what? Three days? THREE DAYS?! OH s**t! I never read anything that the it happened for three hella days! Originally it only happened for a night and everyone returned to their continents when morning comes.

Fuck! Did I really changed the plot of the story? s**t! Then if that's the case.... I should prepare for the freakin worse case scenario!
