“Where is he?”
Kapapasok ko pa lamang sa loob ng building ay nakita ko kaagad si Elizabeth. At the lobby where most people came and went, she sat at the white benches along the wall. Tumayo ito kaagad makita ako. Her eyes were red, her cheeks puffy.
“D-Daisy...” Napaawang ang kaniyang bibig. “H-Hindi ko naman kasalanan. Nag-uusap lang kami pagkatapos ay... Hindi ko sinasadya–”
“Where is he?” I repeated, more firmly.
“He’s out of the operating room but he’s heavily sedated. The doctors are not allowing visitors until later this evening.” Sa kaniyang tabi ay si Henry ang tumayo at sumalo.
I looked at him upon hearing the said information. Unlike Elizabeth, he was much calmer. And cleaner. Seryoso ang kaniyang mga matang nakatingin sa akin ngunit pirmi ang hawak sa braso ng kapatid.
