RAYANA

Chapter 14

The first time that I woke up, hindi umalis sa tabi ko si Lei while Sandy crying on me like a baby and Drina with her teary eyed smile to me.

Malapit sa baga ako tinaan kaya hirap daw akung hininga at may natamaang organ sa akin so it's really critical for me, I lost too much blood that's why I nearly died and revive for 50 times.

It takes me 2 weeks to regained my conscious and they announce me as a comatose patient.

I was really strong said the doctor because I'm trying to fight for my life.  It's been 4 days and it's my release today. Pwede na daw akung lumabas sabi ng doctor because my medical record was fine and the wound just healing so it's better for me to rest at home.

I don't wanna ask Lei about Reiga because by the look at her face I know she's more than angry, she barely leave my side this days and she's getting married in less than a week.

I ask her once about the wedding but she just avoid the topic and ask my wound if it's hurting. Hindi ko na pinilit na tanungin pa ulit.

I was riding the wheel chair with Lei on my back when she stop, I look at her and saw her angry eyes looking at the particular person.

Reiga was with his suit again while walking and stop in front of us.

I heard Drina who's in our side clear her throat while watching Reiga.

"Ang hot talaga ng ex mo tita!" Napapatiling bulong ni Sandy making me smile a bit to Reiga. He avoid my gaze and  look at Lei.

"What are you doing here? Get out!" Galit na asik ni Lei.

"I need to talk to her.."

"f**k the hell No! I won't allow you to make her in danger again!.. Move out off our way!"

Agad akung bumaling kay Lei. This is the first time that she said like that, even Sandy gasp looking shock, Drina just held Sandy to go out the scene.

"You don't have the right to make me stay away from Reya.." The calm weather before the storm Reiga ladies and women out there.

"I have the right asshole! So you better back off! or I slit your throat until you dry!" Did I just heard threat to her mouth?

"You try and let see who will lose here"

Nagtitigan silang dalawa na parang nagpapalakasan ng kung ano man. Tumikhim ako at tinaas ang kamay sa kanilang dalawa.

"Lei.." Tawag ko at agad naman silang bumaling sa akin.

"Ayos lang.. I also need to talk to Reiga. He can take me home.." Tango ko.

"I'm coming with you then.." Saad nya.

"It's ok Lei.. May trabaho rin si Drina eh. Tsaka may pasok si Sandy mamaya. Hmm." Tango ko at ngiti sa kanya.

I saw her watch me and dropped her fighter look gaze. Soften.

"Call me if anything happened Ok.. I put my number in a speed dial.. I'll give you 30 minutes. Kapag wala ka pa sa bahay I'll call the police." She said but she look at Reiga mentioning the police thing. Reiga just look away.

"Your over reacting! Di ba sabi nga ng police missed identity yung nagawa ng riding in tandem.. I'm ok with Reiga" Tawa ko while she's trying to kiss my forehead. 

"I have the reason to.. 30 minutes!" Mariin nyang baling kay Reiga.

"Whatever.." He darkly said placing his self to my back.

Lei turn and watch us for awhile before walk away and go to her car with Sandy.

We watch them go before he pushed me to the other side of the parking lot, moving so slow.

"Traffic jam?" I break the silence and look up to him. I stop when I saw how serious he was while looking at me.

"You creeping me out Reiga.. What's the stare? Something on my face?" Kurap ko.

He stop and look around.

"My men was monitoring us.." Tumuwid ako ng upo and look around. I hold the side of my wheel chair when I saw those men with casual clothes around.

"I was reckless last time. You could've died there if I was last minute late." He move the wheel chair a bit..

"It's not your fault.." Umikot sya at umupo sa harap ko.  Looking up to me a bit.

"The gunman targeted me.. He was aiming the gun to me but he shot you instead. He knew you the moment he glance at you Rayana" He fix my sleepers.

"Does that mean... they knew that I'm still alive?" I asked.

"No.. because the gunman died from the moment he step out of the motorbike but it doesn't mean they'll stop going here because they knew where I was heading for all this whole time."

"Are you saying goodbye this time? You choose to make me still alive Reiga.,"

"I am but... It's getting hard Rayana. This whole time it's so hard because you are here and Raine but I'm..." He dropped his head so I can't look at his face.

"You are a coward. Lei waited you this whole time.. Just tell her you love her still." I said touching his head.

"Raina Leine Villaluz is getting married.. She loves the man and... I can't give her a family..."

"You have me.." I cut him off. He look at me and stare. I still hold his head.

"Your my father right?" He gasp and smile a bit touching my cheek.

"Of course... I'm talking about a baby. She wants a baby.."

"She's open to adopting.. She adopted me. If not then let's find alternative answer to that. Just do your self a favor Reiga and find your happiness with Lei.. Well, The bullet awakes my bad side again so let's do a little bad things."

"It's less than week before the wedding.." Ngisi nya but I saw how he energize what I've said.

"She cancelled the wedding.."  I proudly said to him.

He stand up.

"She doesn't,..?"

"She did because of my situation." I said proudly.

"You're not going to do that.." Iling nya at tinulak na ang wheel chair ko.

Napa irap na lang ako sa kanya.

"Actually, I am little ticklish when I find out Lei was getting married it have been a year since then.. and months after that the Fabio just flipped up and shows his true color.. womanizer." kwento ko habang palapit kami sa itim nyang sasakyan.

"Hmmm." he reacted. Lifting me up to help me go inside.

"It is... I saw him once and tell it to her and the other day, the hell loss on it's ground. Nag call off sila for I think pagkatapos ng graduation ko and then reconcile and start the preparation of the wedding again."

"You really always destroy our good relationship huh." Taas nya ng kilay sa akin..

"I'm not.. I just tell the truth."

"Well, may I remind you that you tell me to talk to her and where do we found ourselves.. 3 years after." He said then close the door while folding the wheel chair and put it on the back before place his self beside me.

"I don't tell you that she have a boyfriend.. You find it to yourself. At tsaka hindi naman kayo ni Lei ah. Ex mo na sya that's why your mad. "

He keep his mouth shut and just stare at me. I just look away and fixed my skirt.

"You're being talkative this year.."

"I'm attending college so I need to speak.."

"Do you have a boyfriend already?" Tanong nya bigla.

"What the f**k?" I said looking at him. His staring at me intently like his reading my mind.

"Why do you ask that?!" I asked looking at him weirdly.

"I am your father.. I have right to know." He said like it's a fact. I glance the driver when I saw him move a bit.

"Talagang kinareer mo ah?" Nangingiti kung tanong making him crossed his arms. 

"Tell me.." Malamig nyang utos.

"I don't... and what if I have?" bawi ko. Challenging him.

"I'm gonna clean my shut gun and rifle for him.." Ayos nya ng upo.

I just look at him.

"I don't have... boyfriend yet. I'll tell right away if I'm starting to like someone."

"Good.." Parang business proposal lang ah.

Natahimik kami ng ilang minuto hanggang sa familiar na ang dinadaanan namin.

Tumikhim ako.

"So you staying?" I asked. I saw my neighborhood that ahead of us. I saw Lei waiting in front of our house.

"Hmmm. Let's find alternative answer." He said makes me smile more to him.

"I like that.." Tango ko before he got down and help me again by my feet this time. The glare that Lei gives to Reiga makes me realize that it's hard to find the answer if our innocent accomplice denied her feelings again.

I was house arrest for one month in a row, because I have my valid alibi the univercity that I should attended by now was giving me a credit to take my subjects at home with the help of Sandy who take care of my module para next month ay makasunod ako sa lesson.

Hindi na bumalik si Reiga pagkatapos nya akung ihatid but everyday was colorful because of different flowers that always delivered in exact 7 am in the morning. Iba't ibang bulaklak sa iba't ibang bansa. I don't really like flowers but by the look of Lei, she's in the cloud nine every time she receive the flowers but pretend to not affected by it.

In one afternoon, I was slowly walking down to the stairs when I heard quiet foot step inside the kitchen.

"Lei.." Tawag ko trying to step down but my body is getting heavy. This wound is going to be the death of me.

"Lei! Can you help me?" I asked loudly, breathing heavily.

I can't help but to seat down on the stairs holding my wound. Nakabandage pa rin sya at sariwa pa rin dahil malalim. Makati rin at mahapdi pa. Sobrang nakakainis na nga but I don't have a choice.

"Lei.. I can't stand anymore.." I groaned trying to reach the wall.

"Reya! What are you doing?!"  I look up to Lei who's on my side already and help me to stand up, trying to get my weight.

"I am thirsty, wala na kung tubig sa taas so I get up.. Kanina pa kita tinatawag." Ngiwi ko holding her arm.

"Ohh I'm sorry.. I was doing a pottery at the back. Let's go back to your room and I'll get your water and some snacks kapag nagutom ka." She said guiding me back.

I glance at the living room and the hallway to see anything, baka guni guni ko lang?

She put me back to my bed before fixing my modules around.

"Aren't you tired? Kanina ka pa nag aaral.. Baka lumabo yang mata mo." Saad at nakatayong pumamewang sa akin.

"Nagpapahinga naman ako. My water Lei please." I said making her laugh and nod.

I watch her go out and close the door after. I tried to get up and make myself comfortable. I stir a bit when I felt pain and it continues in a second. I sigh and look at my stomach. O Oh.

I think bumuka ng kunti ang tahi ko.

"Lei!" I sigh shouted. Holding my wound who starting to bleed.

This is really pissing me off big time.
