RAYANA

Chapter 19

Naalimpungan ako sa mga boses na galing sa ibaba. Bumangon ako ng nalilito at tumingin sa tabi ko but the empty bed was cold indicating that he left.

I look at the door when I heard quiet voices. Kunot noong binaba ko ang mga paa ko at agad na humakbang ng tahimik palabas ng kwarto. Madilim sa hallway papuntang hagdan, hinayaan kung bukas ang pinto ko at lumakad ng walang ingay papuntang hagdan.

Mas luminaw ang boses lalo na ng palapit ako sa hagdan.

"..You should f*****g tell me that she have an accident!" the voice whispered but in a angry tone. Reiga?

"We can't contact you for three years Reiga!" It's Lei.

I took a step down to the stairs but it created a creak sound, agad nahinto ang pag uusap nila. I tried to back down but it created another sound. I slowly turn around to go back to my room.

"Reya?" I turn and look down seeing Reiga looking up kahit na ang dilim sa hallway. Awang ang labing umayos ako ng tayo. 

"You come?" tanong ko. 

Reiga look so serious that it makes his reaction blank. He just watch me, there's something in his mind right now I know. 

"Reya, go back to your room hon may pinag-uusapan lang kami" litaw ni Lei try to go near me. 

"But Lei.."

"Not now Reya, go to sleep" Agaw sa akin ni Lei with authoritative voice. 

I hesitant to look at Reiga and to her. Bagsak ang balikat na tumango ako. 

"You'll staying here until tomorrow?" Baling ko kay Reiga. 

His stance soft a bit and nod to me. 

"Okay" I simple said before walk back to my room. I felt their eyes until I close my door. I lay on my bed facing the door. I sigh turning around but I was shock to death when a shadow move in the corner near my oval window that it happened to be open. There's a man in my room and it's not Izaac! 

Agad akung bumangon at patakbong lumapit sa pinto but a hand reach my night dress. f**k! He tried to block my mouth and hug my entire form but I headbutt him and turning around to kick his abdomen. He slide on my bookshelves and fall on the ground loudly. 

"Reya!"

Habol ang hiningang binuksan ko ang pinto but a hand reach my hair. I can't help but shouted, my voice echoing all over the place, his dragging me by my hair! and I can't turn my back to face him. There's a sound on my room and a frantic steps and the man's hard breathe. Everything is chaos. My heart lifting up on my ears. 

"Who are you?!.." He tried to choke me by my hair and show a knife in the dark. 

I saw Reiga and Lei emerging from the door at the same time that the man let go of me so sudden. I breathlessly breathe hard and crawl away from the man. I heard punches and groans in pain while I'm trying to look at my back and get my breathe steady. The man is really strong! 

I stop moving when the man that attacked me lifelessly held by the man that I didn't expect to see. I was jolted when he just tilted my attacker's head and break it in at ease like a twig. It was silent after that. 

He looks at me letting the man go. The dead body drop like a single waste. 

I've gripped my nightdress collar, my hands are trembling. What just happened? What?... 

I tense when he move from his post. I look up to him and saw him watching me. I gasp when I saw his same clothes that I just saw a while ago, his hair, his body and his blue eyes. He moves to go near me but.. but.. but! He kill someone? He kill.. a man? How can he do that like it so natural? like it's normal? 

"Reya" He softly called but why? Why does it felt wrong?

He tried to reach my arm but I move away trying to create a space still looking at him. I saw pain on his eyes but he didn't try to do anything. I was a mess, everything is like coming back. Everything. 

"R-Reya Hon.. Relax" I look at Lei who's ready to hold me but I stop when her face doesn't show anything but worried to me. There's a falling feelings on my stomach. I don't like it. I don't. 

"L-Lei?" I confusedly said looking at Reiga who's glaring Izaac so much and look at me.

"Come here Reya" Lei hold my hand but I push her away making her shock. I look at her with a blurry eyes. It can't be? No! 

"Reiga" Paos kung tawag pleading him to get me. 

I saw him frustrated and stoic stance go to me and lift me up, I hug his neck and hide my face to his coat. I heard Lei protested and a meaningful stares between Izaac and Reiga.

"Your not taking her.."

"I have her custody Leine! Mag uusap tayo bukas" Malamig na sabi ni Reiga. 

"Reiga!" Galit na sigaw ni Lei but Reiga carry me out of the house, getting me inside his car on the passenger seat, he doesn't have a driver or he have? I don't know but he always have a driver every time his going here. He settle his self on the driver seat and push the car madly. 

The last time I saw  was Sandy looking out of the window with her eyes on me. It blurs after that. My hands are still trembling a bit when the car stop in the middle of the highway. I look up to Reiga who's gripping the wheel so much that I saw his hands vein running through his arms, the intent stare he looks forward and the agonizing  tension in the air. 

"W-Who is she?" I voice my thoughts out with a shaky voice. 

He looks at me but didn't say anything. Agad na lumabo ang mata ko kaya agad kung iniwas ang tingin sa kanya. For more than 6 years, why? Why?

"You knew me Rayana" I gasp looking at him again, this time not hiding the pain in my eyes. 

"Anong kinalaman nun..."

"Then you should know that I don't do friends in legal world, even romantically involve" 

Tulala akung tumingin sa kanya bago unti unting huminga at tumingin sa daan. The silence and darkness that surrounded us makes my feelings gloomed more. 

Parang ang hirap huminga, actually everything for the past years that I pretend to be someone it makes me hard to breath. I thought I was the one who's keeping secrets and hide myself from the outside world. 

"Leine was part of my clan until I helped her out 10 years ago, that's the time my little brother got kidnapped and we split up when I enter Arege clan." Napapahurap na kumuha ako ng hangin trying to fight the heavy feelings. 

"I thought you will figure it out because she never really hide or she did?" I felt his intense stare at me. 

Napapalunok na sumandal ako at tumingin sa dress kung gusot na gusot na. 

"She knew me huh?" Wala sa sarili kung sabi. 

"She did"

"Then why did you give me an identity?"

"It should be if you want to be alive! You were 12 Rayana, and Leine knew me very well that I can't hide anything from her!"

"Then you should told me that I'm not Reya in the first place!" I can't help but raise my voice, f**k this! Feeling ko ang tanga tanga ko. For years I let my guard down to think that everyone around me was clueless and ignorant. 

"You're doing well Rayana! how can I tell you that the guardian who take care of you and our f**k up life are not different!? I was trying to make you safe, to make you feel safe that it's risky to open up your past that Leine can manifest if you know her old self but damn it! I didn't expect her to turn her back to me!" Bagsak ng kamao nya sa wind shield ng sasakyan that it create cracks a bit, bulletproof ang sasakyan but he still make it damage using his hand. 

Gusto kung sumigaw. I never imagine that I will felt anger so much that this felt like a dream because I felt rage inside rushing and.. hopelessness. This is familiar somehow but very new, ang tagal ko ng hindi nakaramdam ng sobrang galit na parang sinasakal ka at nawawala sa katinuan. Na parang nauubos ka. Ang sakit lang isipin,.. I bring my guard down for I thought my impossible dream can be true but I felt betrayed and pain at the same time. Ako lang pala ang nag aasam sa ganito, pangarap ko lang.

"She let Izaac in in your life again! and that f*****g Shaad f**k this!" I stop when I heard the two names. I ran my hands on my hair and grip it hugging my head. Frustrated and so tired. 

Napansin ko na lang na binababa ni Reiga ang upuan sa likod ko at tinabunan ako ng coat nya. 

"Rest" He said so I close my eyes hugging myself like a cocoon. Darkness filled me in a second. 

Nagising ako sa lamig na tumatama sa noo ko. I jolted when the first thing I saw was a glass wall with glittering skyscrapers. Agad akung tumango at tumingin sa paligid. A yellowish and brown combination everywhere and white walls around. A hotel. We're in a hotel, in the city. Gabi pa rin? 

I walk near the glass wall staring at my reflection. Gusot ang buhok ko at ang night dress ko ay gusot gusot na. My pale face but voided with emotion was there, nothing else. I feel my feet getting cold because of the aircon, even the soft carpet that I felt seems colder. 

I look away and slowly walk to one door. Marahan ang bukas at sara ko ng pinto, I walk to the hallway slowly, I got in the huge receiving area with glittering chandelier in the dark. The lights around are dem and the only noticed is the back of Reiga and the beautiful city that looks like twinkling stars. His holding a bottle of wine on his right hand. 

"Reiga" I said trying to go to him but stop when I felt another presence in the area. 

Lumingon sa akin si Reiga bago sumulsap sa bandang likod nya kung saan ang bandang hallway palabas ng hotel. I trace his eye sight and saw a tall figure standing on the dark, but his eyes are more prominent. The ocean blue and the intense stare makes me take a step back a bit. 

"You see Zac" Napapakurap na sumulyap ako kay Reiga bago sa kanya. He didn't move and I can see that his wearing all black. 

"She's not the girl you were looking for, Rayana is dead" Reiga calmly said. Did they talking about me? 

"So stop this madness and go back Brother" I gripped the side of my night dress and look at them back and forth. You can see that it's like their just talking normal but the tension in the air is suffocating. 

"You lied to me" the voice whispered but the venom was there. Reiga suddenly laugh so loud. 

"I never truthful to anyone" Reiga laugh drop the bottle to the side drawer near him, smirking. The two was so different but similar in a way, have different beauties and dangerous aura. 

"You did grate, hiding yourself on my watch, getting in without noticing and be with Reya" Reiga faced Izaac fixing his coat. 

"She's going back.."

"No one is going back, I'm done with you middling with everything!" I was startled when Reiga shouted. Very angry and ready to point a gun.  

"You're f*****g everything up Izaac! Minsan na kitang sinabihan to let everything go, Rayana is dead!"

"She's not!" I greeted my teeth when his eyes turn to look at me. 

"She will die and this time it's in front of your eyes" Alam ba nilang naririnig ko ang sinasabi nilang dalawa? 

"I'm not gonna die soon" singit ko sa kanila making Reiga glare at me. I gave him a stare to let him know what his been said to Izaac or Zac? whatever. Deny sya ng deny tapos contradict naman sa tuno nya. His desperate. 

I look at Izaac who's walking silently to go to me but stop a bit when I watch him. His stand fulter and hesitant look away from my eyes so he look down a bit. Dapat lang because I can't let him touch me anytime soon. 

"if I die, Leine will surely refuse to accept you Reiga" I saw Reiga drop his shoulder. 

"Damn you, I'm still mad at her alright" He groan reaching his wine. 

"I'm beyond mad, so you all better tell me everything before they come" I lifelessly said to the two of them before slowly turning around and walk back. I heard Reiga sigh heavily. 

"You finally decided huh" Pahabol nyang sabi. 

I felt his presence on my back letting me know his there. I go in and crawl to in the middle of the bed. The soft sound of the door close and a huge figure lingering beside the bed while I'm facing the glass wall watching the skyscrapers. Closing my eyes. 

"I'm sorry" He quietly said. Do he have any idea what is his sorry about? 

I didn't move nor reacting to him. He stay there  and didn't move a bit as I close my eyes and never turn to look at him. I had enough for today or yesterday. I don't know. I just had enough for now.
