KABANATA 41 It was an ordinary day at the orphanage. The little girl sat on her usual chair. She was finishing her sketch of the sky the night before. It was the brightest night she had ever witnessed. She was planning on painting this one on a bigger canvass so she was very careful reviewing the details. And like always, she didn't pay attention to what the other children were doing even when they were looking or talking about her. This day wasn't any different from the other days except that it was. "Have you heard? The devil's going today?" "Are you serious?" "Going as in leaving for good?" "Of course, Moron! That crazy rich asian boy's getting her for real." "I feel so sorry for him already." "But didn't he always mention that he'd be taking her with him as soon as it's possible
