DEIGHLAND’S POV
Umuwi ako para lang kumuha ng ilang damit. I needed to stay at the condo for a while. I can’t stay in the house any longer… not when everything between us feels so wrong.
Pagbalik ko sa office, sinalubong ako ni Jake sa hallway. Napaka-seroyoso niya habang hinarang ako.
“What?” I asked flatly.
“I’ve been thinking about what happened during the event,” sabi niya, arms crossed. “Are you really okay?”
“I’m okay, Jake.” I said it quickly, almost coldly—like I could actually convince myself I was.
Pero bago pa ako makasagot nang maayos, lumapit si Jaden.
“Serious matter?” tanong niya habang nakatingin sa amin pareho.
“No, Jaden,” sagot ni Jake. “Anyway, Deighland, we’ll talk later.”
Pagkasabi nun, umalis siya at naiwan kaming dalawa.
