Chapter 16: Harsh

Nakasimangot akong naglakad papuntang main entrance. Nakita ko sa malayo si Sam kaya naman inayos ko ang sarili ko at ngumiti.
Pag nakita ako nitong nakasimangot baka kung ano ano pa sabihin at itanong niya. I'm not in the mood.
"Hey," I said to catch his attention.
He looked at me and smiled. He look so charming ano kaya nangyari dito? Pa-impress lang ba talaga?
"Let's go?"
His car is already at the entrance of the building. Medyo hindi ko nakilala nung una dahil nga gabi na nung nakasakay ako sa sasakyan niya.
We've been on the road for 30 minutes now. Saan ba kami pupunta?
"Saan tayo mag di-dinner?" I asked.
"Uh... secret." He chuckled.
I pouted. I don't like surprises, kinakabahan kasi ako pag ganon.
We stopped in front of a... wait this is not even a restaurant. This is a private place. He went out of the car and turn to open the car door beside me.
Don't tell me Sam will do something bad? I mean wala naman sa mukha niya, but why would he bring me here? Akala ko restaurant at mag dinner lang kami.
He's a really good guy and if this turns out wrong, I think I might have trust issues na haha.
"What are you thinking?" Tawa niya.
"This is just a dinner date, don't worry" Dugtong niya.
Dinner date? What?
"D-Date? Akala ko ba dinner lang?" Tawa ko at bumaba sa sasakyan niya.
He laughed too and closed the car door when I got out.
"Oh sorry... I lied. Can you forgive me?"
He's holding my hand. Tinaas niya 'yon at hinalikan ang likod ng kamay ko.
Nagulat ako pero hindi ko pinakita. Ngumiti nalang ako at sumunod sa kanya sa pag pasok sa bahay. Inikot ko ang paningin ko and I saw some picture frames. It's sam with his family, iba-iba sila.
"Your house is so big!"
"Uh.. this is a family house. Hindi lang ako ang nakatira dito. Well anyway kaming dalawa nalang ang kapatid ko dito dahil ang magulang namin ay nasa abroad.
"You mean Troy?"
"Ah! No. He has his own house." He smiled.
Ahh... so they have a younger brother? Pero si Lawrence? Akala ko ba kuya 'yun ni Troy? I guess they're just pretending, except for Sam. I don't understand.
But how? I thought Dane's mom and dad is immortal? And I've seen their face. Ibang iba sa mga nasa litrato na 'to. Planado ba lahat ng ito?
"Kuyaaa!"
Two young children ran towards their brother. Ang cucute! Ang isa ay babae na I think nasa 10 years old. And the small little guy.
"Hello babies! Meet your ate Cleo," Sam smiled and looked at me.
The girl looked at me with so much hate in her face. Nginitian ko lang siya.
"If I know lolokohin mo lang din si kuya."
Uh... I'm not even together with your kuya. Bakit lagi ba sinasaktan si Sam? I mean does girls he date often hurt him?
The little guy waved his hand on me and smiled like wala siyang problema sa mundo. Sana bata nalang din ulit ako.
"Hey, she's just my friend. She wouldn't hurt me, 'diba Cleo?"
I smiled awkwardly and nodded. Why would I even betray him in the first place?
"Kumain na ba kayo?" Sam asked.
"Opo, kanina pa po."
"Go upstairs and brush your teeth before sleeping, okay?"
Tumango ang dalawa at tumakbo paakyat ng hagdan. They're so cute. Ang protective nila sa kuya nila.
"Don't run!" Suway ni Sam.
Tumawa ang dalawa at hindi pinakinggan si Sam. So... Sam is a family oriented person. Nakakatuwa dahil you can see that he really cares for his siblings.
"Let's go," He said and hold my wrist. He pulled me on the way to their garden.
Napanganga ako nung makita yung table na nakahanda. May mga pagkain na and the scenery is romantic. I think he's going to fast... I mean I haven't even develop any feelings for him yet. Hindi dn kami araw-araw nag uusap?
"Gutom ka na ba?" He asked.
Tumango ako dahil nagugutom nanaman talaga ako. Lalo na nung makita yung pagkain sa lamesa. Lumingon ako dahil may naramdaman akong kakaiba. No one's visible in my sight aside from Sam, but I can feel that...
Someone's watching us.
Is that some spy? Maybe an enemy? I don't know Sam that well pero should I really trust him? Paano kung sine-set up niya lang pala ako ngayon?
Buong dinner nag-usap lang kami tungkol sa isa't isa. Sam won't even let a topic die, pinapalitaan niya kaagad. I feel like I can talk to him all day. I didn't expect to enjoy this dinner. Akala ko normal lang na kain and just small talks, but Same made my day today.
"Thank you, Sam." I smiled when I got off his car.
Nasa harapan na kami ngayon ng hotel. He insisted to take me home, hindi rin ako tumanggi dahil hindi ko naman alam kung paano mag commute pauwi.
"It's nothing. I should be the one saying thank you since you trusted me and you accepted my offer."
"Go inside," He said.
"Ikaw muna. Papasok na lang naman ako eh." I said.
He didn't argue with me anymore. Ngumiti siya at pumasok na sa kanyang kotse.
Kumaway ako sa kanya habang papaalis ang sasakyan niya. Wait... my key card... oh s**t I forgot it! Paano ako makakapasok sa penthouse?
Should I ask mom's friend for another keycard? Parang nakakahiya naman. Pa-special lang? I'm here to live a normal life and not an executive life.
I raised my hand to call a taxi. Kinuha ko ang plate number at sinend kay Zeus. Everytime I commute sa kanila ko sinesend, it's either Zeus or kuya Daniel.
We still communicate, but not alwayssince busy ako at busy din sila.
"Sa Villanueva Corp. po." I said.
Mabilis kami nakarating sa building dahil mabilis din mag patakbo si kuya I wonder it's still open? Naalala ko kasi first na punta ko mag gagabi pa lang ay sarado na. Oh my God! I still have to try though.
Kung wala talaga mapipilitan akong manghingi ng bagong key card.
Tinignan ko ang building na sarado na. The guards are roaming around pero nasa dulo sila, ayoko naman sumigaw dito kaya naisipan ko na lapitan nalang sila.
"Forgot something?" Lumingon ako sa nag salita.
I looked at him and he smirked. I rolled my eyes at him and turned back.
"Oh. You think ignoring me can bring your key card back?"
Pumasok ba siya sa office ko? Pakialamero!
"I didn't trespassed your office. Nahulog mo 'to nung umalis ka kanina."
Bakit ba kasi napaka careless ko? I sighed deeply and looked at him.
"Bring back my key card." I said.
"You think it will be easy to claim your key card?"
"Of course, duh? That's mine." Irap ko.
Why do I need to do something to bring back what's actually mine?
"What do you want me to do?" I said and crossed my arms.
Naiirita ako sa kanya, but at the same time... no... nevermind baka binabasa niya nanaman ang isip ko.
"Simple. Don't date Sam. If you want to date someone.. date me then." He said.
My jaw dropped, but I immediately closed it. My heart is beating so fast and I can't even look straight at him right now. He knows me and Sam had a date, siya ba yung nag mamasid sa'min kanina?
Why would he do that? May Allison na siya ah? I just don't get him at all.
"And why would I do that?"
"Hmm... to get your keys back?" He chuckled.
Fuck. He sound sexy when he chuckles. Umirap ako at nag timpi ng inis.
I'm done. I'm going to ask for another key at the hotel. I don't want to date him, hindi ako tanga. Naging tanga ako noon pero hindi na mauulit 'yon. Tinalikuran ko siya at nag lakad papalayo.
"Cleo.." he called.
Hindi ako tumigil sa pag lalakad and he's still following me. f**k it.
"Do you like Sam already that you choose to walk away than date me to get your keys back?"
And that... hit me. Tumigil ako. I turned around, pinanliitan ko siya ng mata.
I don't like Sam as more than friends, but I'm starting to like him as a person. Maybe not yet, pero so what? If he can have a new relationship with other woman bakit ako hindi? Ako nga dapat ang may karapatan dahil ako naman ang iniwan.
"Tangina ka rin eh 'no? How could you? What do you want me to do, huh? Patulan kita? Putang ina! You have a fiancé, I saw you two right in front of me then you're going to tell me to date you? What the hell is that? You know what? I'm glad I didn't marry you. Paano nalang kung nag katuluyan tayo? Who knows what you would do?"
There. I burst out.
He didn't say a thing. Ganyan. Diyan naman siya magaling eh. Nawawala yung pag ka pilyo niya when I burst out. Yung tipong sinasabi ko lahat ng mga mali sa ginagawa niya.
I walk away. I tried to turn back, nakita ko siyang nakatulala napaupo sa isang upuan.
Naawa ako sa kanya, but did he felt pity on me nung ginawa niya yung mga pang gagago sa'kin?
