I sent Clarene a message. Sinipa ko ang sapatos ko at dumapa sa kama.

Clarene:

What b***h? It’s late at night! DONT TELL ME YOU HAVENT DONE ANY OF YOUR TASKS AND YOU NEED ME TO HELP YAH?! I AM SO f*****g BUSY AND MY MIND IS GOING TO EXPLODE! EXAMS ARE COMING LIKE A f*****g STORM!!!!

I think I am hearing her voice right now with that reply.

Ako:

OH SHUT UPPPP! TAKE A f*****g BREAK COZ IM ABOUT TO TELL YAH SOMETHIN!!!!!

Clarene:

What is it? DONT f*****g LEAVE ME HANGING OR ELSE I WILL BITE YOU WHEN I SEE YOU!!! Say it

Ako:

Lol! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!! SXAN ASKED ME OUT ON A DATE!

Clarene:

OH MY GEE!!!!!! I KNEW IT! That’s why you two were so close sa Laguna! OMG OMG WHEN????? AND WHAT ARE U WEARING?

Ako:

This coming Saturday evening. I’ve literally got nothing to wear!

Clarene:

YOU LITERALLY HAVE A ROOM FULL OF CLOTHES DAYN!!! Are you f*****g blind?! Nevermind, let’s go shopping tomorrow after school

Ako:

But you said you were busy?

Clarene:

Huh? When did I say that? HAHAHAHAHAHA

Ni-replyan ko mismo ang message kung saan sinabi niya na busy siya.

Ako:

Iyan oh! Bobo ka ba!

Clarene:

HAHAHAHAHA gosh, idc if im busy or not, we will go shopping tomorrow after school. Periodt.

Ako:

HAHAHAHA do not blame me or take it out on me if you fail!

Clarene:

Hey you are underestimating me, which really hurts btw!!!! You fucker! YES I WILL BLAME YOU BUT I KNOW IT’S NOT GONNA HAPPEN BECAUSE I WILL NEVER FAIL!

I laughed and rolled over my bed again. Our conversation is so alive, ugh, this is so so much better if this was in person.

Ako:

HAH! You better not coz im gonna whip ur ass like a horse HAHAHAHHAHAHA

Clarene:

I AM GOING TO SLEEP!!!!! STOP BOTHERING ME YOU UGLY!

Ako:

ALRIGHT THEN GOOD NIGHT HORSE FACE HAHAHAHAHHA

She replied a middle finger emoji and a shut up gif. I put my phone back on the nightstand and went into the bathroom to change clothes, wash my face, and brush my teeth. After that I went back to bed and tucked myself in. The phone lit up so I took it.

I smiled when I saw it was Sxan.

Sxan:

I hope you’re asleep by now. Just saying goodnight and I love you.

What the f**k. Hindi na nga ako makatulog kakaisip sa kaninang mga pangyayari tapos may ganito pa siyang isesend sa akin. Hindi ko tuloy alam kung magre-reply ba ako sa kaniya o hindi dahil sa unang sentence na sinabi niya. Does he want me to reply or not? Meh, nevermind, I’ll just try harder to go to sleep.

I put it back on my nightstand again and then shut my eyes closed. I thought I was not going to fall asleep, but it my surprise, I felt drowsy a little faster than anticipated. And in just a snap of the god of the night, I was asleep.

“Dito ka ba magdi-dinner mamaya?” tanong ni Ate habang kumakain kami ng breakfast.

“Ewan ko. Depends, why?”

“Wala, natanong ko lang. Aalis ka ba?”

Binaba ko ang utensils at pinagtuunan siya ng pansin.Bakit ba sunod-sunod ang tanong niya?

Bumuntong-hininga ako at pinagpatuloy na ang pagkain.

“I’ll just let you know,” I said.

Tumango siya at laking pasalamat ko sa lahat ng santo, sa wakas ay tumahimik na siya.

Nagpahatid ako dahil naiwan ko nga ang kotse ko sa school kahapon. Pagbaba ko ng sasakyan ay nakita ko na agad si Clarene sa ilalim ng puno at mukhang hinihintay ako.

I approached her, she was waiting for me indeed.

“Oh my god, hello b***h!” bati niya sa akin at yumakap. Nakipagbeso-beso ang gaga.

“Oh ano?” masungit kong tanong.

“What? Ang aga-aga ang init-init ng ulo mo. Later ha? We’ll look for a dress. Mas excited pa ako sa iyo, e.” She laughed.

“Oo nga, e. Napaghahalataan ko rin akala mo ba. Sige na, oo sasama na ako sa iyo mamaya mag-shopping at konting grocery para sa stocks sa loob ng kuwarto ko,” I said.

“Alright, if maaga tayo makahanap, we will do that. What color ba?” she asked.

“I was thinking if I should go with blue or perhaps black. What do you think?”

“I’m not really sure, we’ll see when you try them on,” she answered. “See you at lunch then?”

“Okay okay. That sounds like a plan,” tatango-tango kong sagot.

“Correction! A good plan, not just any plan.”

Tumawa nalang ako at naglakad na papasok ng classroom. Napansin ko agad ang kamay ni Sxan na kumakaway sa ere. Noong nakota ko iyon ay tumigil na siya at itunuro ang upuan sa tabi niya.

“You slept well?” he asked after I settled down.

“No, I didn’t so obviously I am grumpy so do not talk to me unless I talk to you. And keep your mouth and eyes and ears shut, clear?”

He put his lips together and nodded. “Yes, Ma'am. I heard it clear, clearer than any mineral water.”

“Okay, start now. Shut it. Hmm?” I asked.

He nods his head and went back with what he was doing before I came.

I was just watching him while he’s doing something sa laptop niya. I peeked at it and I saw that he is solving math problems, really hard math problems with so many square roots and functions and numbers and letters that I cannot understand! They’re all over the paper, and bakit naman niya ito ginagawa sa time ng ibang subject? Oh my gosh, was he serious when he told me he’s going to shift to Engineering?

Noong nakita niya na sumisilip ako ay nginitian niya lang ako at agad din na bumalik sa kaniyang ginagawa. Yeah, I think he was serious about it and he is indeed going to shift.
