Chapter 52 Dayn’s PoV Sxan: Can you come with me later? Two weeks has passed since our Laguna getaway. We did the usual routine we always do at school, have a lunch with chismis as dessert because all we did is talk about Precious most of the time. Sxan doesn’t say anything unless we talk to him. Once, he spoke while Clarene and I were talking about her, we both turned to him and since then, he never spoke again or meddled. Music club is shaking as well, Music fest is near and our class has no representatives yet. Archery is opening tomorrow, I’m thinking about joining the local team and probably regionals for fencing. Well, let’s just say that I’m practicing my skills in Archery. I have to get back in shape, Alexie and Xian might call for help in the future and I want my body to be able to survive getting shot or stabbed. Who knows what might happen. Ako: What? I’m busy, I don’t think I can come. Sxan: Where are you? May I know the reason why? Ako: I’m at the fencing team meeting rn. Why? Where the f are u going? I’m on my way to the area. I’ll wait for you outside. Ako: What r u gonna do here? I think this will end in half an hour at most. All the serious talking stuff is done. I want to get out of here, but they’re talking about the scheds so I can’t. Sxan: Mamaya pa naman tayo aalis, before dinner. I’m here, look at the window on your right. Hi love! Ako: Stop waiving ur hand, my gosh. Sxan: I found this food chain, oh food caravan, I think? Yeah, let’s go there. Clarene’s not coming, just so you know. Ako: And? It’s food, Sxan. We have food at home. Sxan: It’s my treat. Ako: Okay then. What time are we leaving? After this? I glanced at him, he chuckled and nodded. I gave him an okay sign and focused back in the meeting. “Fencing will start the day after tomorrow. See you here again, same time, three pm. That is all, we’ll see each other again in the next meeting. Thank you and have a great evening ahead.” We all rise and said thanks. “Are we leaving? Like right now?” I asked. “Wait, let me tell Ate na huwag na akong hintayin for dinner,” I said. I turned my phone on, I saw that he saw my lock screen. It was Luke and I, back in seventh grade, we’re both wearing lipstick, but I put make-up on him and false-lashes as well. Took a picture and bam, our lock screen wallpaper is the same, well, I don’t know if he has changed that. “What? I thought you’re going to inform your Ate?” he said. I know he saw it, but— I mean he hasn’t said anything about it, so I’ll just do the same. “Uh— yeah.” I shrugged off and tap my messages. Ako: I’m going out. Not gonna have dinner at home and don’t wait for me. I sent the message to Ate. I put my phone back in my pocket. “Done, let’s go?” I asked. He nodded and we walked to the parking lot. Ate: Okie, who r u with? Ako: W/ Sxan, bye gotta go. “Here we go, hold on tight, we’ll fly,” he said. I knew that he is a fast driver but I never felt anxious while riding with him. He drives smoothly and stops at red lights and pedestrians. I don’t think he ever got involved in a motor accident, but who knows? I drive like this as well, I like the adrenaline it gives. I know it’s dangerous but I just can’t stop it. He removed my helmet and put it on the seat. He held my hand and he walked in first into the crowd. “Are you hungry?” he asked while looking around. “Yeah, the smell of foods makes my stomach rumble. Oh, look, grilled squid!” It is stuffed squid pala. I watched them grilled it before deciding that we should order one.
